To make bricks from horse shit to give away?

I appreciate this is very random.

But I have been reading about how to make fire bricks from horse shit, apparently they burn very well (and no they don’t smell). I happen to have access to an awful lot of horse shit.

So I was wondering about giving making the bricks a go, and advertise them locally as free fuel to people who need to keep warm. Apparently the price of firewood is going to go through the roof this winter.

The first problem I foresee is that the poorest of people are unlikely to have open fires or wood burners. I say this as the only people I know who do have fires in their houses are generally very well off. I live in social housing and nobody who lives in social housing has an open fire, that’s for sure!

Secondly, would people just think ‘what a bloody weirdo’ and rather sit in the cold than accept my offer of shit bricks?

I wouldn’t have the time to make thousands of them, but if I could just keep a couple of people/families warm over the winter then it’s got to be worth it?

Before I get elbow deep in a vat of horse shit (curse you, neoliberalism), is this a really bonkers idea? Should I go for it or leave the shite in the muck trailer where it belongs?

Agree that you go for it - and sell them to well off eco minded people and then donate that cash to local foodbank

This has got me wondering if I could convert my chickens' poop into fuel for the open fire.

Or if it'd stink so much that I'd have a lifetime of regret.

There’s a lot of very poor people in the countryside! I live in a very expensive area but the people here with little money do have open fires/woodburners. Almost all the social housing in our villages and the rentals do.

Shit bricks would be well received here!

It’s a waste of good manure.
Build a hotbed! Grow pineapples!

@ShitABrick22 I'm speechless as 😂😂😂😂so much, you have a wonderful way with words!!
I agree with another poster re narrow boats, loads pass by my house and I'm sure some of them would be very grateful, if any drop off the roof I'll have them as have a logburner in my kitchen (not rich, I just lived through power cuts and can't bear being cold). Checked wood prices the other day and what I usually buy for £20 is now £30 and sure it will go up more. A friend of mine is thinking of getting a machine that apparently makes bricks from old newspapers.

Thanks for the laugh👍💐😂
