I've combed and combed their hair used so much conditioner, am using a nitty gritty comb
Think we've got rid and them boom live ones again galore a few days later
The nitty gritty is supposed to remove eggs and everything
I need tried and tested methods what products will kill these critters dead, I can not send DC back to school with nits and DS is desperate for a haircut which I had to get the clippers out and do a homemade one as I can't take him to the barbers
Please help me Sad

Wet combing with a nit comb and conditioner every other day, but you have to be thorough.

Do it before their bath/shower. When your child is moaning and whining that it's boring and they hate it it, you're only about half way done... Once their washed and dry, give their hair a very good long drying with the hairdryer, as this will dessicate the eggs and kill help kill them off. Wet combing will get most of the live ones, hairdryer will get most of the eggs. Rinse and repeat for 2 weeks and you should be able to get rid of them before the babies that are small enough to avoid the comb can reach maturity and lay eggs.

Comb through with a lot of conditioner. It has to be thorough and repeated frequently.
I find it more effective that any treatment.
I actually don’t rate the nitty gritty comb at all - I’ve alternated them same comb through with it and the closer tined smaller ones that come in treatment boxes, and got noticeably more with the latter. I don’t get the hype!

My cousin is a barber and sees nitty kids all the time! If you give it a good comb through and go for a cut the same day (before any missed eggs hatch) it’ll be fine go get a proper haircut.

Years ago and I mean the 1970's and before, lice combs were much smaller gaps than they are now and worked so much better

I have a similar Derbac one to this. 1 week of daily conditioner combing normally gets them but I've always done it every other day for a second week just to be sure.

This is currently on eBay!

Nitwits has worked for my dd everytime, she's never had a really bad case though but it's worked. We then use vosene leave in repellent on school days.

I used hedrin once (both applications), and also combed with conditioner every other day, then every 3 days for 3 weeks. Its a pain in the arse on long hair, but I managed to clear my DD’s and she had also given them to me and we both have long hair. Unfortunately I found there was no short cuts and It was just patience and discipline to get rid of the eggs. I was then very strict about making her tie her hair up at school. You have my sympathies it’s awful to deal with.
