A driving one - lots of near misses

Lots of near misses over the years and pedestrians also cross here which adds to the mix! Just those dips in the pavement for them and their heads having to do a 360 to check the way is clear.

Red arrows showing cars going downhill to traffic light. When the lights are red the traffic backs up - no box or other markings but red cars usually leave just enough space for green cars to turn right onto the main road and for blue cars to turn right into the side road. Sometimes it’s only enough space for one car.

Green cars vision is often hampered due to the curve of the road so nudge forward (yes, against Highway Code).

Blue cars can’t see green cars and if the space left by the red cars is small will try to go across the path of the green cars on the wrong side of the road (yes, against the Highway Code).

Occasionally a red car from further back will go on the wrong side of the road (blue side) but to overtake the line of stopped traffic to turn left (yes, against the Highway Code).

Other than everyone being unreasonable who is the MOST unreasonable? I’d say overtaking red cars followed by blue cars using greens side of the road and then the council for not putting a box/keep clear so everyone car see better.

I don’t get it. The road is being unreasonable?

It’s the council anyway in answer to your question. We had a similar junction and it now has lights, problem solved.

I think lights on this junction would back up the traffic from the main lights - there’s another junction in the area that does exactly this (as does any blue car waiting to turn right here when the red cars are flowing).
