My requirements are:
a) not too hard to find
b) somewhere I can walk back to after the show without getting murdered and stuff

Thanks!

Train?

FloodTheBathroom · 28/08/2022 15:00

You will need coins or the Ringo app

FloodTheBathroom · 28/08/2022 15:01

If you go M32, past bus station, up st Michael's hill, down Tyndale ave and down woodland road, if there are no spaces you can then go down into trenchard st.

But you will need Ringo!

Funnily enough, I've lived in Bristol for 7 years and never felt I was going to get murdered. It's a city, not a murder scene! It has the same risks as everywhere, just keep to well lit places and around people..the same as you would elsewhere. I feel safer in the city than in a dark village for example!

Trenchard Street I would go (or a bus if you're staying at location nearby)

Train?

Can’t be doing with a train at that time of day, I’m afraid. I want to just get in my car and get home!

Not suggesting it’s any less safe than elsewhere- just that wandering about as a lone female after dark isn’t always a great idea, especially if you don’t know where you’re going!

Trenchard. Lovely car park cos the spaces are nice and big

sageandbasil · 28/08/2022 16:42

@Oldraver there's a place called Bambalam which is next to the car park, does great pizza and has a rooftop terrace

Piratefairy78 · 28/08/2022 17:09

Any of the car parks mentioned would be good. Just be aware that depending on when you are going the congestion charge will soon be implemented for a lot of vehicles I think it’s November but I could be wrong.

Emmelina · 28/08/2022 17:29

Trenchard will be fine. And you’ll be in a big group leaving the same show! I’ve never actually felt uneasy in that area of Bristol.

The congestion charge will be introduced on 28 November.

Also note that central Bristol is currently extremely difficult to navigate, as some roads are one way or 'bus gates' only.

If any fellow Bristol-based MNs have worked out how to easily reach Baldwin Street/Queen Square via the M32, please give me a shout! Drove all around the houses on Friday night only to find that access to Queen Square from Redcliff is closed. Satnav did not pick this up 🤷🏾‍♀️

Theimpossiblegirl · 28/08/2022 17:38

Millennium Square is expensive but easier to find and so much easier to pay and leave after the show so worth it I think.

MrsMoastyToasty · 28/08/2022 17:50

Prince's Street, next door to Jury's Hotel.

FloodTheBathroom · 01/09/2022 23:58

@HotMess21 hi just seen this.
I'm not aware of the redcliff restriction but I don't think it's possible as Bristol bridge is now a bus gate. You could park in that car park opposite st Mary redcliffe and walk to where you need to be.
