To ignore the ironing

And everything else that needs doing?

I'm 4.5 weeks pregnant, dying with the fatigue and nausea. My DH is currently picking our DS up from a festival. We have 3 other DC's at home, youngest 8 so all really capable and lovely.

I've long said all week what 'my list' was going to be in terms of getting things done today. However, after a late night spider catching and then getting up repeatedly because I feel so nauseous, I've lost ALL motivation.

I'm laying on my bed surrounded by jobs that need doing and I'm yet to even being.

Help me to find my mojo!

It sounds like the family should all muck in. Hand out the jobs. What really needs to be ironed? Have you tried hanging things over a bath full of hot water?

Ironing is optional

Lie on your bed, make a list, delegate.
Put the iron away.
Whoever does the washing hangs it up to dry on hangers. Very little will actually need ironing.

Oh they will and absolutely do muck in, every single one of them.

DH is adamant that I leave everything until he's back. Our DC's are raring to go to get stuff done. The issue is me - I feel crap. The 8 year old has come up with a plan, we're all going to relax until 10 and then get together as a team and tackle the whole house room by room. She's very optimistic!

I have to do some ironing, I attend Court most days, none ironed clothes are not really an option.

We are making a list, we'll the DC's are Grin

I'm going to get up at 10 - they're all being so proactive, I appreciate that about them. At least they're not fighting and whining! I think they feel sorry for me, they don't know about the pregnancy and so they keep bringing me tea which makes me gag. It's the thought that counts right.

Get someone else to do the ironing? Or see how you feel in the afternoon/evening, you may have a bit more energy by then.

Hope you feel better soon.

I'm leaving the ironing for DH. He'll do it when he gets back. And thank you, I'm sure I'll feel better - if all goes well then it'll be worth it =)

You really need shirts that you don't have to iron. But for immediate purposes, make that the only thing you iron.
