Should this ring be covered under the jewellers guarantee?

Partner bought an engagement ring on Boxing Day, promised New Year's Eve. I noticed after a month or so the stone was lose, stopped wearing it and returned for a new one in March. They agreed it was a manufacturing fault.
Today I noticed the stone was loose again, but not as loose as before so I kept it on and I was going to take it off when I got home. Earlier I noticed the stone was missing, hunted high and low in my office and eventually after an hour I found it, phew. Would this still be considered as a manufacturers fault?
I haven't banged it and I work in an office so no manual labour etc?
I am hoping to return the ring again and get a completely new one as I have lost trust in this design. I saw online the reviews and the same thing is happening to other people. Spanner in the works my OH didn't get any ring insurance on it.

@Hermie12 why can't you wear a ring to bed?

@Lorddenning1 apparently I was told that it gets caught in bedding between/pillows and that’s most likely to cause a stone to loosen . I was dubious but seemed to work !

Honestly, If you’ve had this much problem already I’d return for a different design. It’s not going to get better. Especially since someone else had the same problem.

my DH bought me a pendant. Within a week the stone popped out while I was brushing my teeth. I managed to catch the stone so brought it back to get it fixed. They reinforced the fitting so when I returned I was testing the fitting and it popped out with little pressure. They brought out a different one with the Sam design and with a little pressure that stone popped out too.

The clerk had the nerve to tell me to stop popping the stones out. 🤨.

I was fed up and said I just wanted a refund on the pendant and she said no, because they had altered it already. By this point I was actually furious.

I put the chain with the pendant and the obvious missing stone and said fine. I’ll wear it out like then. I’ll be sure to tell everyone who kindly points out that my stone is missing where I bought the necklace and what my experience was like, and why I’m wearing a necklace with a missing stone.

I may have pointed out the little pile of loose stones on the counter to the people browsing.

Weirdly, the clerk changed her mind on that refund. I went to a better jeweler, and have no trouble with the different design.

@Hermie12 good to know I won't do this in future and I will make sure I don't mention this to H Samuel though

I hate H Samuel for this reason was given a friendship ring like an eternity ring from my friend from there within days one of the tiny stones was missing. My engagement ring was 1 carat grey diamond that was made in the 1800s and as good as new

I have my grans ring that is almost 80 years old. The stones have never loosened, she never took it off and worked as nurse. A decent ring shouldn’t break.
