@memorial

The thread ended yesterday.

I wanted to say this. Thank you for all you do and please don’t be done.

We’ve become such an individualistic society, and I think Covid threw a huge spotlight on this.

Personally, when I’ve needed a GP during the last few years, I’ve tried to embrace the new systems in place - and after, perhaps a bit of persistence - I have been seen.

The NHS saved my Mum’s life during Covid. Had it not been for you - I wouldn’t have spent this summer swimming with her and her grandson, playing trains in her living room and hearing their laughter.

It cannot be expected, for things to simply return to normal after Covid. We are all feeling negative, concerned. But if we work together and support each other - that’s where we thrive, we can get to a more cohesive place.

The NHS have just given me a block of speech therapy sessions. It’s made such a massive difference to my son. He now knows how to ask for something when he needs it. The lady who saw him was so incredibly knowledgeable and really, really cared.

So a big, massive thank you to you - and we need you.

I agree. It was such a hard thread, there are so many desperate people.

I also read this thread and agreed with OP's post. Thank you OP for all you do. There are a few bad eggs in the NHS (I work in it so I know) but many many more who want to give the best care. It is a system on the brink of collapse I'm afraid. Thank you for all you do OP.

I've been through cancer treatment and mental health crisis care on the NHS this year, and the care I received has been excellent, timely, compassionate and life-saving. Thank you.

I had gallstone surgery on the NHS and when I came around I cried with relief - so much exhaustion and pain, and all over. Thank you @memorial.
