Botox- one eyebrow raises more than the other

I know I know. My own fault for trying it...
I had Botox a week ago on my forehead for the first time and now I can move one eyebrow, but the other one hardly moves.

This makes me look quite funny when I lift my eyebrows...

Also the eyebrow that doesn't move as much means my eye isn't open quite as much as the eye with the moveable eyebrow.

All of this is barely noticeable, but I know and it bugs me. The clinic said I can go back for a touch up next week..

But I'm not sure if this is just a normal reaction and it happens sometimes OR if the injector is not very good.

Any advice ?

Feel free to make fun of me, I deserve it !

It can happen and should be corrected at your 2 week check up. That’s why it’s important to go to the check up(and practitioner should always offer for free).

But if you have eyebrow droop on one side then that is harder to correct. Fingers crossed they sort it and it wears off after a few months if not!

How do they correct it ? Put more in the side that moves more ?

Basically right now I can live with it. I just don't want to make it worse by messing with it more, if that makes sense ?

You can now perfect your Roger Moore impression.
Are you sure it’s as noticeable to other people as it is to you?

Definitely not. No one noticed. I hope it doesn't get worse ! I'm obsessing over it of course ..

The person you went too cannot be very good!

Hi op, I had this. I don't think it's necessarily a bad job, it's just that everyone's faces and muscles are slightly different, and of course can be stronger on one side of the face than the other.

It is a normal part of the process to have a 'part 2' appointment where they can see how your face has reacted and make any tweaks necessary. Yes this probably means adding a little more Botox to the side that has not responded properly, but not as much as you had in appt 1. This is not unusual.

However you may find that the side that is more resistant to the Botox (ie the side which still has more movement) starts to firm up given a few more days, it's just taking a bit longer to settle in. It really does take a couple of weeks to see the full effect.

(I'm not a practicioner, this is just from my own experience and that of my friends)

This is what I'm worried about- everything online is saying if this happens then the injector wasn't good... and now I should go back and risk worse ?

Now it's liveable. What if it affects my eyelid and then I can't see. I have a lazy eye, I can't function if my good eye drops. ( should have considered this all before of course ) beauty is pain and all that..

Very common and one of those things, go to your review and see what they say. They will record what has happened so next time you have the treatment, they will adjust the dose

Thanks for the info. That's why I posted, to hear experiences. I've been booked in for the follow up appointment at 10 days from the first appointment. I can't make it at the two week mark, as I'm away- do you think this will be OK ?

Oh and might I add something else..

I also had my crows feet injected with botox and the same side as droopy eyebrow ( even though it barely drops ), it also seems to have worked more than on the other side.

When I scrunch up my face, the droopy eyebrow side eye, literally has NO crows feet. No matter how hard I try. The normal eyebrow side has a tiny bit of crows feet left. There seems so be much more movement in that side of my face. Perhaps it's just my face. Not sure I'll do it again.

It's also now so obvious to me when people have had Botox. It wasn't before somehow.

You'd be best off waiting for the 2 week mark I would say. My clinic says reviews best 14-21 days, no longer

Delatron · 23/08/2022 13:29

Definitely wait until the 2 week mark. It takes that long to settle in. Not necessarily the sign of a bad doctor, it happens with the best. That’s why all good ones do the 2 week check. Sometimes they even up something even you can’t see. Everyone’s muscles are different so dose needs to be tweaked slightly.

Delatron · 23/08/2022 13:30

My doctor reviews 14-21 days also ..

@gluglug hello! I am wondering what you decided to do? I basically have the same outcome, no one else can tell until I point it out. One of my eyebrows is very surprised when I raise it! Also, I can’t move the middle AT ALL! Grateful for any advice! Did yours wear off eventually?
