To give cake away

My dsis brought a Costco chocolate fudge cake on Saturday for my dh birthday party. We gave away as much as we could to guests but still have about a third left. It’s not been in the fridge. I think it’s ok but only my dh can eat this cake and there’s no way he’ll eat all of it and I also managed to rip off the instructions when I was opening it.
I don’t want to waste it but also don’t want to give it away and poison someone!

I was half thinking of offering it to the Asda delivery driver but feel like it might be a bit weird.

It's OK to throw it away. The person who caused the food waste was the one who brought along a far too large cake to the event in the first place. Don't feel you have to cram yourselves with junk food.

I'm saying this with a large home made cake sitting on the counter that I was gifted at the weekend by a family member who likes to offload their baking. I'm 3 stone overweight and we don't much like that kind of cake anyway. And who is going to take a 12 serving cake of unknown provenance off my hands? I'm hoping it will stay OK until next weekend when I hope to take it to an event. (Aside; can you freeze a glace iced sponge cake?)

Those cakes last forever. We got one on holiday once for ds bday- got a good week out of it!

Don't put chocolate cake out just in case like here your neighbour's dogs sneak into your garden.

Or like here, your neighbours would 😂
