What worse - a boy peeing on the beach or a dog peeing on a footpath?

Just sat on the promende by a beach and saw a boy (7-8years old) pull his trunks down and pee on the sand before running off to carry on playing. Cue gasps of 'that's disgusting...did you see what that boy just did?!' From one lady. Less than 2 mins later her dog peed in the middle of the prom.

AIBU to think that dogs peeing on the pavemet where we walk, often barefoot is as bad, if not worse than a kid peeing in the sand that will get washed away by the tide?

Both are ok neither is "worse" both children and animals need to pee and most here will agree better outside than inside.

People go barefoot and sit down on the beach. People don’t go barefoot or sit down on the pavement.

So can I piss on the pavement then?

Kid peeing in beach is much worse - at 7 he should be able to communicate he needs a toilet!

As a dog owner myself, the woman should have taken the dog to a grassy area regularly to pee. Dog wee on tarmac is smelly. On that basis, I find what the woman allowed her dog to do worse. She is an adult. The boy is a child. And yes, it is possible to stop a dog weeing in inappropriate place, unless they are incontinent or have a medical condition.

The little boy wasn't taking a dump in the High Street outside Greggs fgs - although some dogs might which is socially acceptable if immediately picked up by the dog parent/carer. Sometimes a little smear of shit is left behind too.

Which is probably more unhygenic than 'residue of little boy pee in the sand'.

Being a current/previous parent/carer of both dogs and little boys I do feel fully qualified to comment on this hugely irrelevant matter.

Ideally both would have been more discreet but I wouldn't care about either.

Oh god - I must have been imagining my own life then - when I often and still walk barefoot and sit on pavements. Obviously not in white trousers and expect my feet to need cleaning afterwards. I'm only 60 so hopefully it will be a few years before I walk naked around the streets. Peeing at will as I go.

Kid in the sand is worse, other kids may bury themselves in that, you can see where a dog has peed on the floor and wouldn't put your bag down in it, also dogs have no choice where to pee they don't have the luxury of being able to use the toilet. X

The boy should have just stick his bum in the sea and had a wee like normal people do 😂 dogs have to wee somewhere I guess but I do hate it when owners let them pee in the middle of walkways
