Shamelessly posting for traffic but I have covid and I need to look after my 15mo DS this week. I feel like shit. What tv programmes are your 1 year olds into to help me get through it?! Hoping that he will actually watch something for more than 5 mins…
yeah I know too much screen time is bad blah blah I’ll cross that bridge when I need to I just need some help getting through the next few days!

A bit of TV won't hurt them. We use it when we have to get things done. My 2 year old likes super simple songs on YouTube, the wiggles and bluey.

@Coolcoolcool and get better soon!

jalu47 · 21/08/2022 20:11

Good luck - mine is 20 months old and not interested at all! Had been hoping he would watch 10 mins here or there.. we have an 8 hr flight in October and I'm dreading it as he's on the go the WHOLE time 🥴 Hope you feel better soon.

GinUnicorn · 21/08/2022 20:13

Cocomelon, in the night garden and little baby bum were winners for me when I was sick

Coolcoolcool · 21/08/2022 20:16

eek @jalu47 thats what I’m worried about. At his age his big sister coped on a long flight with the wiggles and coco melon but he’s just not interested in the singing ones it seems.

will try some bluey and in the night garden!

@Coolcoolcool thought maybe it was a boy thing but the other little ones I know are all watching a bit here or there. We've tried octonauts and in the night garden but he'd rather play with this cars and balls. I shouldn't be complaining as sure he'll be addicted by age 3 but it's soooo tiring that he will not sit still for a moment.

Amoozbooze · 21/08/2022 20:19

The o ly thing my daughter liked at that age was hey Duggee

SGChome20 · 21/08/2022 20:20

My DD doesn’t watch cartoons at all, listens to the theme tune, dances and then walks off! She does however love Ms Rachel. She’s on YouTube and I think she’d watch her all day long if I let her!

LizzieSiddal · 21/08/2022 20:21

Hey Dougie and Peppa Pig always go down well with my granddaughter.

Coolcoolcool · 21/08/2022 20:22

adding hey duggee and Mrs Rachel to the list.

sidenote: wtf has happened to the wiggles. Bring back Emma!

I am desperate though so if it works…it works!

Mine is 22 months and is it obsessed with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, don’t feel bad about letting them watch TV, personally I feel like if you let them watch it, it takes the power and temptation out of it down the line (mines been watching it for a couple of months and never demands it or anything) I know that’s an unpopular opinion though

Tomselleckhaskindeyes · 21/08/2022 20:26

Peppa pig brought my two year old up. i had really awful twin pregnancy and was sick as a dog He knew the bing bong song word for word!! 😂 He's now a very well behaved and polite young man so didn't do him any harm!!

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 21/08/2022 20:27

Cbeebies- quite enjoyable, new show every 10mins, educational and diverse!

Twizbe · 21/08/2022 20:27

Bluey!

It will entertain you as well.

Sunnyqueen · 21/08/2022 20:27

Gigglebellies on YouTube

Oysterbabe · 21/08/2022 20:30

At that age Rainbow Horse.

SquigglyOne · 21/08/2022 20:31

We use videos on YouTube -
super simple songs
the bumblenums
blippi
cozy coupe
gigglebellies
hogi.

the screen time police really piss me off - a little bit of tv here and there is literally the only thing that will keep my little boy still

Coolcoolcool · 21/08/2022 20:32

Excellent suggestions - thank you!
