To think I'm eligible for shared ownership?

So, I'm probably going to get loads of shit for this but here goes anyway...

I "earn" £75k and the cap for shared ownership is £80k (total - regardless of if you're a couple of single).

I also receive a car allowance of £8,100 per annum.

Not looking for opinions, but facts and experience please as to whether the car allowance is counted as "income".

Have reviewed the government advice and it's not mentioned at all.

thanks in advance for any replies.

If it is, I'll ask work to reduce it and confirm in writing but I'd rather not have to.

Is it about gross or net salary.

As your pension contributions could keep you under the 80k.

Royalbloo · 20/08/2022 19:58

It just says "household income" 🤷‍♀️

Have found a wonderful house, have an AIP for the mortgage, offer accepted. Would be heartbroken to be refused.

Great point about pension contributions though, thank you!

Is the aip fot a specific shared ownership mortgage?

Have you already completed all the registration documents for shared ownership? Some companies won't speak to you about a property until all of the registration is complete and you've been accepted by them.

AIP is for shared ownership. Viewed property on Wednesday last week, AIP already in place. Offer accepted Thursday.

Everything sent to housing association on Friday.

What does your p60 say your taxable income is? That's probably what they'll be it on

Royalbloo · 20/08/2022 20:19

They didn't ask for my P60.

Plus, before this I was self employed but not have a permanent contract.

Bump as I know it's silly but I'm really anxious. This could be our only chance.

Well, whatever the taxable income is from whatever you used to provide evidence of it.
