AIBU to have only just realised these lines were in the movie "About Last Night"?

was it meant as a reference?!

@FartOutLoudDay I don't think they died... I imagine Rob nearly dying and Sharon having to rescue him and something embarrassing happening and her being more concerned about this, than her husband nearly dying! Great show!

Can't decide now whether to rewatch fleabag or ALN first.
Haven't seen catastrophe should I?

I just have intense anxiety about the children being in the car when they go into the water. I’ve not been able to rewatch it since!

lucielou82 · 18/08/2022 23:07

@crochetmeahat I actually preferred it to Fleabag! I've watched the first series about twenty times!

lucielou82 · 18/08/2022 23:09

@FartOutLoudDay oh god! That thought didn't even come into my head. Did you watch Behind Her Eyes? I can't stop thinking if the son at the end of that! Terrifying

FartOutLoudDay · 18/08/2022 23:10

@lucielou82 i did but can’t remember the ending!

God it was such a brilliant scene! I also had the worries… the invisible threat to life seemed to be everywhere - the kids in the car alone, is there a current in the water, they are swimming too far out… stop that… but I like to think they just wash through it, nothing happens because it’s just life and mostly they bad stuff doesn’t happen. But how they suggested all those anxiety things, amazing!!! That ending shot of them swimming away!!!

FartOutLoudDay · 18/08/2022 23:14

@Twooforjoy I seem to remember there was a lot of foreshadowing in the final
series of Rob’s mental health deteriorating. And they were always somehow so in it together it’s always made me wonder if they’d died together. I loved their characters so much it actually makes me feel a bit emotional just thinking about it!

Now if Hot Priest had said "Snap out of it!" and slapped Fleabag's face, a la Cher in Moonstruck, I'd have said you were onto something Grin but it will pass is not so unique. I voted YANBU anyway a) for spotting it and b) because Phoebe Waller Wotsit might have inceptioned herself. I have been watching Sherlock and Fleabag fan videos in my insomnia and the pencil scene is still my favourite.

SequinsandStilettos · 19/08/2022 05:54

"Wife, children, house, everything. The full catastrophe."

Loved Catastrophe so much that I refuse to have them drowning on a riptide and decided it was a metaphor that they would continue to tread water forever more if need be, with the odd peril here and there, because they were in it together.

Sparklingbrook · 19/08/2022 06:40

ALN (1986) is my favourite film. I know the whole thing word for word, but the best line in it is 'No Dan we were bowling partners' IMO.

Yes

Velvian · 19/08/2022 07:18

I liked Catastrophe, but series 2 of Fleabag is amazing. I've already watched it 3 times, I might have to watch again.

Claire is such a brilliant character. I love their relationship.

It is obviously the HP though that prompts me to watch it repeatedly. 😍

DisplayPurposesOnly · 19/08/2022 07:34

No no no. The best line in About Last Night is about the combination hair flip and giggle. Killer move 😉

Or 'There's a clock above your head'. or 'I refuse to go out with a man whose ass is smaller than mine' There's just too many.

MissBattleaxe · 19/08/2022 07:58

The Catastrophe ending was a metaphor for how they'll always rescue each other even when the other one does something stupid. I never thought they'd died at all. It would be the wrong tone.
