To think this is utterly sinister and to hope whoever is responsible for the deaths of these two girls is brought to justice?

What a horrifying story. Such beautiful girls, trying to find freedom, and their lives cut so short :(

I don't necessarily think it's anything sinister - young healthy people die for no obvious reason all the time, so it's inevitable that eventually two young healthy people will die for not obvious reason at the same time.

It's natural to assume the worst, and it's natural to assume that because the odds are so small it's impossible for it to happen. If the odds of an apparently healthy person dying in a particular year are 1/100000, then the odds on any given day are 1/100000/365, so the likelihood of two dying together on the same day are 1/100000/365/100000/365. Small but possible.

When there is a chance of something happening, no matter how remote, then eventually it will happen. It would be stranger if it never happened.

It's obviously more likely that something untoward happened, so hopefully the police will be able to determine what happened in the future and bring whoever was responsible to justice if necessary.

I'm with you OP. I find it suspicious. Especially after they "spoke out" in public about their home country. Reminds me of a story I read this morning about a woman who also "spoke out":

Two young, healthy girls dying in their beds, with no obvious reasons such as a fire or gas / CM lieak, is very suspicious, especially given they had raised concerns with police previously.

Not sure why people on MN always look for the most unlikely scenario, like a natural death. It's just not likely.

I'm going to read this as sarcasm because you can't possibly be saying that it is MORE likely to be two healthy sisters aged 23 and 24 died natural deaths at the same time when they were living in a country they had fled to after experiencing persecution?!

Use your brain! Read the whole report, all the words, right to the end, and then tell us why this isn’t dodgy as fuck?

Vapeyvapevape · 18/08/2022 14:01

Very suspicious, how sad that they weren't found for so long .

LooseGoose22 · 18/08/2022 14:05

What a weird first post.

The young women seem to have been nervous/anxious - to the point of suspecting a food delivery had been tampered with ..... that speaks of an awareness that their safety was at risk.

Interesting that their family didnt even come to Australia to repatriate them, but left it to the Saudi Embassy.

My bet would be on poison.

But is there anything that could avoid detection in the post mortem.(which wasnt performed for a month or more)?

This puts me in mind of the Saudi defector who "disappeared" after going to their embassy.

LooseGoose22 · 18/08/2022 14:07

(I'mbpresuming that gas etc in the apartment has been ruled out).

I don't think the right emoji exists for this post.

But seriously, @Dotjones ???

FrancescaContini · 18/08/2022 14:31

This has to be satire but it is completely out of place when discussing the death of two young women.

Ugzbugz · 18/08/2022 16:25

I wonder if it was poisen or suicide pact if they felt such fear. How awful.

I'm going to refrain myself here and simply say what are you smoking?

Two healthy sisters died after fleeing their home country, that's suspicious as fuck.
