I don't know what to get for my 50th?

I know it sounds spoilt but my Mum and sister and husband have been asking me what I want for my 50th. That's lovely but I could do with some ideas?
I don't "need" anything of course, I buy myself things I like but I'm not mad luxurious. I like nice things but can I always think gifts should be things you wouldn't buy yourself. Budget wise up to £500 max

Ive been married 25 years and my wedding china looks like shit so I've asked for a very niche "Everyone bring a plate"

Riedel wine glasses and a nice decanter (like @Ponoka7!) or a painting. I also got great kitchen knives for mine, which I love and a Coach bag.

A beautiful Japanese vase that I'd seen and fallen in love with in the shop at the British Museum.

I love the idea of a nice purse -I'll ask for one for my next big birthday I think
Silver bangle also sounds great- practical but meaningful

I got two silver bangles from Daniella Draper, both engraved with something meaningful to me.

A really good quality coat that will last for years? Or boots?

Etsy is your friend, the leather bags on there are amazing.

I bought a camera

These ideas are great, I normally just get a small present that is nice but I wanted something to last and yes to treat myself a bit more for a change. I'm thinking something I would normally class as out of reach.
I do love my garden and maybe a couple of lovely chairs or some gorgeous big pots with trees in. I love the idea of a painting, it's just where to look for one. Le cruset or similar sounds good and beautiful vase I do like a good bag too.

I only have costume jewelry really, where is good for nice pieces?

Just lovely to hear other ideas and what they treasure.

I'd get tickets for a West End show and a night in London - heaven for me. But the only 'takeaway' bit would be the programme from.the theatre.

Just looked on there and saw a beautiful necklace was £38,000!!! Still lots of other more affordable things too

OP, if you like the idea of an artwork, you could find an artist either locally or on line, and commission something that would be unique and personalised to you.

There was a BBC TV programme called "Home Is Where The Art Is" and I was always impressed at what the artists could do with a fairly modest budget, less alone a bigger one. There were some gorgeous pieces in all sorts of mediums and all sorts of prices. (it might be available on iPLayer). I intend to do it for my next 'big' birthday as I love the idea of seeing something beautiful every time I come home, and even nicer if it reminds you of the people who bought it for you.
