Acid attacked following a successful insurance claim against 3rd party

Hello,

A couple of years ago, I was involved in an accident (non fault), with defendant's car hitting my car from the back.

Last week, the defendant's insurance company decided to settle the claim, after lots of excuses/lies/delay tactics by defendant. I am still awaiting for the cheque to arrive in the post! Today the defendant has sprayed my car with paint remover in about 6 places!

I have cctv evidence, his face is covered. Police not interested! What can I do if anything?

We just feel unsafe in our own house - I think solicitors revealed our address to other party when court papers were served, not sure if they had to or not?

I would say maybe the police report had your address? I had an accident about 19 years ago where the other driver was completely at fault (they had a diabetic incident and passed out at the wheel so drove through a red light at full speed hitting me driving through a green) and the police report had their full name and address. We were both given this. May not have come via the solicitor.

Fair point Drevere, if the accident was reported to the police.

'Police are apparently busy solving 'real crime' and 'property damage' isn't up on their list!'

I wonder what would happen if you went to the police station and sprayed one of the police cars with acid. Presumably nothing!

Sadly they will act heavily when it's reversed.

Someone I know drunkenly decided to damage a police car walking home drunk one night after they refused to accept and investigate his sisters rape claim a few weeks before that.

He got 5 years in a maximum security prison for terrorism. (He set fire to the car)

He knows what he did was wrong and is now a criminal psychologist to support victims so they don't take revenge against a failing system.

OP I agree you need to make a complaint. They aren't taking the future risks seriously at all.
