Underpaid by £130

My wages came through and I noticed it was around £130 short. I went to the HR/finance manager, it's a very small organisation so it's just one man doing both roles.
Anyway he double checked then told me that it was his mistake as he'd forgot to process my paid holidays, and said "You'll get it next month."

I understand mistakes could happen but he didn't even apologise and was so nonchalant about it. Now I'm £130 down for this month, luckily I'll still manage even though I'll have to restrict things a bit more now, but I was thinking if this were someone struggling financially with a lot of debt etc. Then it would be really difficult to just be £130 shirt.
Is there no way that companies can make a separate BACS payment even after the cut off? I just don't think this is acceptable

The good thing is that I'll be £130 up next month provided they pay properly

Something similar happened to me last month (though it was £200); I spoke to finance who immediately asked if I needed a BACS transfer. I work for a small organisation (about 20 people), so it can definitely be done (though I'll actually be paid next month). The time we were all paid late, we were told that if we'd incurred fees (e.g. for a mortgage payment leaving our accounts overdrawn) then they would be paid without question. Just to illustrate what can be done.

There’s always a way to make an additional payment, he just don’t want to because it’s marginally more hassle for him. Doesn’t sound like a great employer.

Ask for it now or you’ll pay more tax next month. It’s shit and they should fix it.

I work for the NHS and one month they literally forgot to pay me as they, in their words, didn't do anything with my paperwork. They also asked if I could wait til next month (whole months wages!!)

I always turn things like this round on them. I'd be asking him if HE would be happy to wait til next month, probs not! Personally I'd kick up a fuss and get it BACS to you

My boss occasionally makes incorrect payments although luckily for me last month was the first time.
He immediately transferred funds to my account when I complained. It was £400. There's no way I'd have waited till next payday for that.

One of my colleagues is under the impression that the business bank account he has charges him each time he makes a BACS payment so therefore he is reluctant to make extra payments mid month - tough shit!! He should get it right first time!!

I work for a well known company and I'm salaried. I was missing money one month so called HR. Once it was confirmed their error they done an out of cycle payment and then the next month I was deducted the same this happens for 4 months and before Xmas it happened. I blew my lid and they said cause the cut off for Xmas is earlier they could not do an out of cycle payment so wait until the next month. Essentially this did fix it but your right imagine you lived month to month. It's so frustrating xx

Was the shortfall sorted quickly OP? Just had same happen to me, work initially said “you’ll get it next month”. I pointed out that it’s a significant amount of money to be short of in these times of rising bills and they sorted it quickly. I was short of £120.
