Shameless traffic post, although I figured others could benefit!

I'm South based but happy to travel, and happy to spend a bit on somewhere really special and utterly relaxing!

Nothing I have ever tried comes remotely close to the amazing Pennyhill Park & Spa.
Everything about it is fantastic: you are so well looked after there.
the afternoon tea is also fantastic in the main dining and bar area of the hotel.
def worth every penny.

Another vote for Lucknam

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 11/08/2022 21:38

Turkish Baths in Harrogate

Keepthepeace82 · 11/08/2022 21:46

The Club at Cottonmill Spa at Sopwell House. Its 100% worth forking out to access the Club section. Access to Jacuzzi's and pools outdoors, numerous relaxation rooms and sleep pods etc.

Ooh following…

The Ballantyne Spa in a country house near Glastonbury which I went to last year (Charlton Manor?) had a lovely outdoor area. You can stay in the hotel too.

Another vote for Ragdale Hall from me

AverageJoan · 11/08/2022 23:08

Appreciate it's far but Titanic Spa in Huddersfield 💆‍♀️

Frolie · 11/08/2022 23:12

I was disappointed by Ragdale Hall. It felt very old fashioned. Love Rudding Park in Harrogate

Stickystickystick · 11/08/2022 23:12

Nirvana spa is the best spa ever

CatherineCawood · 11/08/2022 23:16

South Lodge in East Sussex. Outdoor hydro pool, outdoor swimming pond, gym, treatments, good restaurant, classes, loungers, salt room, steam room etc.

Smarshian · 11/08/2022 23:16

Carden Park near Chester is amazing!!

FanSpamTastic · 11/08/2022 23:19

Ragdale Hall - it's main focus is the spa. I love it. The food is fantastic and I come away feeling completely relaxed. Where else can you go for dinner in your dressing gown! They have also added a superb cocktail bar!

Pennyhill Park is lovely - but it is a hotel first and spa second. You can have lunch in the spa in your dressing gown but I don't think they'd let you in the bar in the hotel!

I'd rate the spa at Pennyhill better than Chewton Glen though. Chewton is a lovely hotel. But it doesn't pass the dressing gown test for me! But beautiful location and lovely restaurant.

I've been to Nirvana too - it's a lovely spa but just for the day. It's always been busy whenever I've gone there. But I've not been in recent years.

South Lodge? near Horsham

TeeBee · 11/08/2022 23:29

Now I thought Ragdale Hall one of the worst I've ever been to. Terrible treatments and therapists smelling of fags. Envy

tigerbear · 11/08/2022 23:30

Seaham Hall in Durham

TeeBee · 11/08/2022 23:31

Agree South Lodge is lovely. I also like Spread Eagle in Midhurst.

Claysta · 11/08/2022 23:32

Nirvana Spa gets my vote

MotherCrab · 11/08/2022 23:33

Nirvana, like heaven on earth

IamSamantha · 11/08/2022 23:34

Rockcliffe Hall or Seaham Hall. Beats Ragdale hands down

Akushla123 · 11/08/2022 23:39

I can never understand why people recommend Pennyhil. It is the only hotel which my husband and I have ever actually left as we found it so horrible. The rooms are dated and the ones that have been refurbished are very tacky. We also found the spa to be quite dirty in addition to extremely busy.

Chewton Glen is absolutely lovely and you can have treatments in you room which is lovely. Lucknham Park is also very nice.

bananamum13 · 12/08/2022 00:21

Ragdalle Hall is my absolute favourite ever.

Unglamorousgranny · 12/08/2022 00:24

Hoar Cross Hall, near Burton on Trent, Staffordshire
