Why don't people like Martin Lewis run for PM?

Instead, we are stuck with Etonian **ers who are so far removed from reality, sitting pretty in their ivory towers. Boris, Liz, Rishi, even the Labour candidates, don't represent people like me, and I don't trust them to make the best decisions for the country. I don't trust them to sort out the problems we are facing, and are heading towards.

I do, however, trust Martin Lewis; he is one of the few voices speaking sense and truth. He would get my vote. AIBU?

He was interviewed about becoming a cross bench peer, but realised that he could not commit the time, given his work and his family. Lord Lewis may yet be him one day, but not now.

What he says is trusted a lot more because he is not an MP.

I think my sentiment was more "I would simply like my country to be governed by a group of individuals who I (and others) respect, trust and admire."

Because somebody able to make a good living from talking about interest rates on credit cards isn't ideal for making decisions about whether to enter into a conflict that will lead to the deaths of both British and local populations.

The ones we do have aren't up to much, true, but just because that nice man on the telly seems to know what he's talking about, that doesn't mean he's in any way able to enter discussions about keeping states from killing one another or whether to supply one side with weaponry because they might be horrible, but they want to sell access to oil or precious metals used for computers, for example.
