To ask you what this dream could mean

Last night I dreamt that I discovered another room in my flat (if only!). It was nothing special really; it had brick walls, a smallish window and a heater on the wall, plus vinyl flooring. I told one of my daughters (who shares a room with her sister) that I would do it up for her, and then she could have it as her bedroom.
I think I was in the room starting work on it, when suddenly it started to flood. Then, quick as a flash, the water disappeared. I remember being concerned and thinking that the water had to go somewhere, and probably under the vinyl flooring! Grin
I discovered another door in this room. It took me into the walk-in closet of my ex husband and his partner (who was the other woman). I saw all their clothes hanging up, and felt really funny about being there. We've been apart for about 10 years now.

A couple of points to consider:

  • I dream about my ex a lot, at least a few nights of the week.
  • I've previously had a recurring dream about discovering an unfamiliar room in my home. In previous dreams though, the room is a bit of a shell (no glass in the windows, etc) and could really only be used for storage. The room in last night's dream, although bare, did at least resemble a room. I've never dreamt about it connecting to my ex's property though, until last night!

Break it to me, I'm bonkers aren't I? Blush

In my culture/religion it's really frowned upon to share any kind of dream as the first person who gives you any kind of translation could become true. I know you most likely won't share this belief (otherwise you wouldn't be posting it here!) but can I be the first to hopefully give you a good meaning : it could possibly mean that you are yet to discover good things in life Flowers

Aww, thank you. I'm not particularly superstitious, but thanks anyway for the positive spin!

You're welcome ☺️ I remember having a similar dream about space opening up from a tight space to a large space. We had recently downsized our home due to a lot of financial difficulties and we were in a very difficult financial situation . I remember telling my (late) mum the dream and she said it meant that we would eventually own a large home (the tradition is if someone does recount their dream to you, you give it a good meaning). She was right. She's just not around to see it 💔

Me and my friend have this dream. It's because we would like our house to have more rooms. Both in a 2 bed.

Finding another room in your house is quite a classic dream. The fact that it wasn't a basement but a room on the same level as existing bedrooms is significant. The room doesn't represent a repressed emotion but an aspect of yourself that you don't get to "tend" or just notice.

You started to look at this aspect of yourself/ room and we're flooded! A hurdle. But the issue resolved itself.

What aspect of yourself would you be excited but scared to give attention to?

xJoyfulCalmWisdomx · 09/08/2022 00:05

Ps, interesting that the room has become more like a finished room over time. I think the room is you as q single person. Once a "shell" and now a finished room you're excited to decorate.

All sounds like a really normal dream to me, certainly nothing outlandish or unusual. Are you usually someone who remembers their dreams? I’ve noticed that people who only remember occasional dreams tend to feel there’s something significant about them but people like me who dream loads tend not to. My dreams are very vivid and very weird and mostly quite nightmarish. I do have ‘extra room’ dreams a lot though!

Ps, for context, I've had dreams my house was made of glass. There was a reason for that. I was under a lot of scrutiny at the time.

I've also dreamt I was at my parents house and my brother had some messages on his t shirt including maybe ",im gay" on his t-shirt. But I couldn't clearly read anything. I kept trying to turn up the dimmer and my parents kept turning it down.

I use the Dream Moods dictionary a lot, look it up on Google. You can search by keyword.

Finding secret or undiscovered rooms in the house is a classic dream. It’s actually so common that there are literally thousands of webpages about it!

There’s some unresolved shit with your ex that’s playing on your mind.

I had a group of evil elephants the other night, making a group of us carry out awful crimes and we had to keep the elephants hidden, i was v stressed out for the entire dream.

I like a secret room dream, I have a reoccurring one, not always same situation but always a similar room.

A nicely archetypal dream. You need to read it as symbols. The house represents the psyche, or the self. Basement = unconscious, deep down stuff. Attic = higher consciousness. Bedrooms = aspects of the self that relate to the bed, sexuality, security, comfort etc. The state of the room and how it is furnished is telling you something about the state of your psyche. Hidden rooms =hidden or neglected aspects of the self. Daughter and sister are also symbolic, the child self, the feminine self. It may be significant that the house in your dream is a 'flat'. The vinyl flooring is repeated and significant - does vinyl mean something to you? Perhaps records or music? The fact that it is on the floor is also significant, it is grounding. Look out for visual puns and wordplay ('skeletons in the closet' 'coming out of the closet') And chase up associations. What does the room remind you of? Have you seen anywhere like it before?
