Court - does your attacker get your address?

It's been a long time since I was in court and I'm not sure how it works for ABH

5 years ago I was in court against my ex for DV, he was found guilty and during the time from the assault to being in court he was given the address I was staying at ( I moved out of the area ) and told not to contact or communicate with me. I complained at the time about him being given my address but the police said he had to have it to know where to stay away from

I was attacked by a random woman on a night out in April. It's in court at the end of the month. The police havnt been great at keeping me updated, I didnt even know it was going to court or that she had been charged until I got a letter asking me to attend court. I've emailed the police and they have said she has been told to stay away from me and not communicate with me ( we dont know each other, I wouldn't even recognise her if I saw her in the street, all I remember is she had long dark hair )

So I'm just wondering if she will have my address now too? The policeman is off for the next 5 days so I wont get a reply off him until them so I'm just wondering if someone on here will know if shes been given my address?

Thank you

Also I know this isnt an AIBU, I posted on crime and havnt had any replies and I'm just sat here really worrying, I just need to know if she will have my address or not

Only if it was a condition of her bail not to go to your address. A condition not to contact you (which would be fairly standard) would not tell her your address and if you weren't known to each other before there would be no reason to put a condition for her not to go to your address (I'm a criminal solicitor).

Hi Oneforposy7

Thank you so much for replying. A family member was accused of assault a few years ago and said they were given the defendants address so that and with my ex getting my new address it made me panic

The suspect was charged in custody with s47 assault and released on bail with conditions not to contact yourself or ***

Thank you for taking the time to reply

If that's the condition then no, they wouldn't have been given your address. Hope that puts your mind at ease.
