To ask how much spending money you'd anticipate needing for this holiday?

Sorry posting for traffic and I have name changed.

Just looking for views on roughly what you might budget as spending money for the following.

2 adults, 2 DC. We have booked an all inclusive resort in Lanzarote, has water park etc and a few pools so don't anticipate needing to venture out too often. We will be paying for her private taxi transfers to and from the resort (about 20 mins travel time each way). We plan to eat out 3-4 nights max at local restaurants but otherwise will eat at the resort, and all breakfasts and lunches will all be in the hotel. We plan to visit a local waterpark, but otherwise no big days out / excursions planned.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Op paying the premium for AI for 7 nights then planning to eat out for 4 of those nights is the definition of madness! I could understand more if you were going for 14, change of scenery etc.

I agree but it depends on when she's going. We've been AI before outside term time and it was only a bit more than B and B so we just paid the extra but did eat out a couple of nights. Now we have kids and go away in August we generally do pay the extra for AI for ease more than anything but its a lot more expensive and no way am I paying over 4 grand for a holiday then eating out on top as well.
I'd rather pay room only if I want to eat out

I wouldn't be eating out that many times if you're only going for 7 nights.
Use the money for treats instead.

I’ve never done all inclusive but won’t you be wanting to explore the area, hire a car, eat in local restaurants? Won’t you get bored at the pool/water park every day?

Well, if you are the sort of person that feels the need to do that, rather than relax in the sun / swim in the pool / read a book whilst sunbathing, then you probably wouldn't book an all inclusive would you ?

Plenty of people love to just "stop" when they are away. Complete change from a busy life at home. Fine if it isn't for you, but, if you like exploring an hiring a car and choosing different restaurants every night, then you wouldn't pay the premium for an All inclusive hotel / resort, would you ?

everyone loves to holiday differently. Just because OP has an AI holiday doesn’t mean they want to stay there for their entire duration. I’ve done a few AI hols, whilst it’s nice through the day we live to get out and about, explore, and eat out in the evenings.
