Interview for my son (18)

May I ask your advice? I haven’t been to an interview for over 20 years. My son (18) has an interview next week for a role working in a warehouse.

I really have no idea what sort of questions he should be prepared for. He currently has one year work experience in this environment, so presumably the most obvious topic of conversation will be his last role. What else do potential employers ask? Does anyone still ask about hobbies and interests?

any advice would be welcome as he’s really shy and I’d like to help prepare him the best I can.

Sometimes they do as ice breakers.
Just no "socialising with friends"...

Did he google some questions? People often post them online. Honestly, he has experience, he will be fine.

My sons warehouse interview was less of an interview and more of a 'do you have a criminal record, do you take drugs, when can you start?.

This made me chuckle 😂

They might ask him health & safety scenarios. Like if you see a colleague doing x unsafe thing, what would you do? Like driving a forklift too fast, or lifting a heavy box above their head, or not wearing PPE correctly.

i think they normally do scenario questions like
‘a time where you have gone above and beyond in your job?’
also strengths and weaknesses.

Ah good point I hadn’t thought of that!
