to spend £300ish plus on Mira fertility monitor to try to conceive

Sorry, shamelessly posting for traffic, but has anyone tried the Mira fertility conception analyser thing?

I saw someone mention it on another thread so I've looked it up and it sounds pretty good but seems to be from the US and on Amazon. Noone I know has used it..

It's about £265 (with a discount code) for their analyser machine thing which checks oestrogen, LH and progesterone and then I'm thinking of adding on 20x of those fertility wands. Imagine that's about 3 months' worth? So expensive!

It's obviously so much more money than the usual LH strips or even Clearblue but I have fertility issues and my LH is often high and I'm starting to realise that it would actually help to check when my oestrogen is high also (I've done egg freezing and know that my oestrogen should be around 1000pmol right before ovulation per good mature egg). So this would help check that my LH "surge" ties in with oestrogen. And test for progesterone after to show ovulation. It does seem like it would be very impressive and more accurate that the strips but so much money (although I guess not when I think how much I've spent on egg freezing in the past).

Grateful if anyone has any advice/experience etc?

Get a cheap basal body thermometer for £10 and temp for a month or two instead. That will confirm ovulation. Look out for cervical mucus like egg white to show when you're fertile. Buy a copy of Taking Charge of your Fertility.

Are your periods regular? If so, your fertile days will be roughly the same every month so after a month or two of temping you'll have your pattern figured out. Save the money for when you have to buy baby things Wink

Hiya, no periods aren't really regular. I have ovulated as early as day 10 some months, day 25 other months.. most of the time I feel ovulation pain and do get EWCM too but it doesn't always seem to tally with the LH surges and the strips so I'm never completely sure when I ovulate. I think because I have really high LH due to my fertility issues (v. low ovarian reserve so drs say it's my body trying really hard to produce eggs and then make them ovulate) so it's often what a opk would show as "high" or "peak" for normal women.

I have the basal temp but struggle to get to grips with it - I wake up and roll around trying to get back to sleep and basically then realise I'm fully awake and by the time I temp, I doubt I'm getting an accurate "at rest" reading.. I will try harder with this too though..

I'd ditch the LH strips and just go off ovulation pain and EWCM as they're more reliable.

I know this perhaps isn't really answering your question but the Clearblue is completely useless for anyone that has slightly longer than average cycles. Admittedly I do have PCOS and my cycle is all over the place but the clear blue has been completely useless for me.

I would suggest that it might be similar with Mira unless you have regular, standard length cycles.

So this is one of the things- it claims to be good specifically for irregular cycles and mentioned PCOS etc on the one I'm thinking of getting. Although I'm assuming that means I'll have to spend loads on their fertility wands etc too to keep testing more often.. but I'm assuming because it tests both e2 and lh so they're linked and more accurate to decide when you're ovulating if they're both high and then progesterone afterwards to see if you've ovulated as this rises etc... honestly is only the price putting me off as it does make sense what they say... assuming it works!
