I know this is probably the wrong place to post this but I'm not sure where else to put it!
My 19 year old daughter is looking at starting her own dog walking business. She's been out of work since last December and, despite applying for shed loads of jobs, she's had no luck at all. She has her own dog, and she's amazing with him, and currently walks a friends dog a couple of times a week so is seriously thinking about going it alone. I'm self employed so know about the HMRC, car insurance and public liability insurance but does anyone who is a dog walker or uses one, have any tips/advice to help her along? Many thanks x

What training does she have? Has she shadowed another walker?

How will she deal with a dog fight? A runaway dog? A reactive dog?

How will she assess whether a dog can be walked with others? Will she do a trial walk with the owners first? How will she handle turning down a dog? Has she experience of large breeds and small breeds?

A broken lead, dog slips collar, general emergency doggy scenario? Will she use her own leads for all dogs or use theirs?

Does she know how to find a runaway dog? Is she on local Facebook pages, pet searching groups in case of emergency?

First aid training for dogs including CPR. First aid kit. What will she do in a medical emergency? Where will she take them? Which vets will she work with? What will she do before contacting owners if a dog needs treatment ie just go to the vet or phone them first except in a massive emergency?

Dog rolling in something honking? Removing mud from a dog before it goes home?

Storage of keys - if they are stolen from her (burglary, car theft, handbag theft) how will she ensure the houses are not identifiable to the thief but are identifiable to her?

Storage of data - needs to be secure.
