So light green and pink reduce the value of a home

and dark colours so navy/black etc actually add value

do you believe this is true ?

yanbu yes it’s true
yanbu no it’s not

ps I saw this to four in worse house on the street tv show

Well over in the Cotswolds where all the houses are Cotswold stone, a light green door definitely adds more value than a dark one!

That was an awful tv programme, really poorly made.

Think it depends on the type of house. A door which fits the style of property is far better and would add value. Its also the style that can affect how nice the door looks and the handles and knockers. Some new builds near us look lovely but are ruined by having giant knockers more suited to older period properties.

You might enjoy the episode of The Boring Talks podcast on doormats and whether they also affect value. I recommend it!

Its about curb appeal. A painted door which is appropriate for the look of the house will increase curb appeal. A white upvc door won’t be great from a crb appeal perspective (but is easily remedied with paint nowadays).

I’m also confused with the voting but the answer to your question: No, the colour of the door won’t change the value of the house.
Thoughtfully chosen door of the good quality will mean that the owner is attentive to details and have done good choices in all areas imo. However the value increase will be about other choices not the colour of the door.

No difference at all. If I don't like what's there I just paint it.

I wouldn't want dark interior doors, I like sunshine & light.

Our first house- an Edwardian Terrace had the original wooden door. This being the early nineties, the whole house was a riotous medley of stippling, colour washing and shoddy stencils. We did the front door a lovely shade likened to Silk Cut Purple. We moved on over 20 years ago- but the house was on right move this spring- with the same purple door.

Current door is a lovely sage green and cream
