Is covid worse or better the second time?

Had a cough, sore throat, sweating profusely, bone aches and overwhelming tiredness today. Just took a test and it's positive.

This is my second time. The first time I was quite poorly for a few days and am just wondering others experiences of whether they found their second time worse or better? I hope it's not going to be as bad as first time.

I barely noticed it second time

Had delta last August and omicron last december

Omicron was just a cold for a few days.
Delta was unrelenting exhaustion, loss of smell and taste and horrible vertigo.

I was in agony the first time I had it as I developed Sinusitis from it, which I never get. The headaches I had were like something I’ve never ever felt before. It was horrible.

The second time I had it, I barely felt anything other than a bit of tiredness. Maybe it was a natural immunity I built up from having it the first time around.

I had it last autumn so assuming it was Delta, it was awful.

Had it a few weeks ago and wouldn't have known I had it had it not been that I tested due to having a sore throat and wanted to check before visiting vulnerable relatives.

I was much worse the second time I had it - first time was more like a nasty cold, second time much more like flu. But I know lots of other people who felt it was the other way round for them.

Better.

Nov last year - banging head and light sensitivity for 4 days. High temp for 2 nights. Annoying cough that also triggered my asthma for another week or 2. Poor sleep. No sense of smell or taste for 10 days. Off work for 10 days as per the rules then, and another week when I couldn't breathe well due to my asthma.

July this year - I really thought I just had a heavy hayfever weekend. No high temp. Streaming nose and sneezing for 2 days. Exceptionally tired, but put that down to lack of sleep due to runny nose and sneezing. Cough for a few days. Same triggering of asthma which has lingered, but back to work after a neg test 5 days after my positive.

Better I found. Not much in it though as both times very mild.

Much worse second time but only for a few days and recovered quickly. First time only mild symptoms but overwhelming fatigue for several weeks after.

TwilightSkies · 03/08/2022 03:54

Much worse second time with lingering issues that went on for weeks.
First time I didn’t feel Ill at all, just lost my taste and smell for a few days.

Much worse second time. It was awful

Ihatethenewlook · 03/08/2022 17:37

I wasn’t too bad the first time. I only knew I had it a second time as my daughter caught it so I did a test just in case.
