Bride hat and tee shirt tacky?

Each to their own and everything but just been in my local airport and seen a girl
With a baseball cap "bride in bright green letters)
Tee shirt and jogging bottoms saying "I'm on my honeymoon" and a suitcase with bride on in big letters

I can't help but cringe a little
Overkill ?

I arrived at the airport hotel on our wedding night in a limo wearing my wedding dress (was 20 years ago when limos were still a thing!) it was only an airport Hilton but I felt like a film star - they upgraded us for free and everyone was so lovely and we had a spontaneous round of applause from everyone in the foyer as we walked through. I was only 21 so probably easily pleased but it’s a very special time for any bride, so what if she wants everyone to know!

What exactly is tacky about it? She’s excited and enjoying a special moment in her life.
I wouldn’t wear it but fair play to someone who wants to and I hope she feels great.

I don’t see what people get out of constantly being others down. You say “each to their own” but you don’t mean it when you are being a dick and following it up with a whole load of negative comments.
”tacky” “cringe” “naff”

She is able to enjoy herself and not give 2 fucks what some random in the airport things of her so I think she’s probably in the better spot here.

Imagine making a thread online to bitch about a woman's outfit being tacky - have we honestly not moved on from this shit? Are you 15?

FrankLampardsBrokenHand · 02/08/2022 19:45

Jesus christ. She's excited to have just gotten married and is harming nobody at all.
It's not what I'd do, but so what?!

It’s super common. There are many companies selling bride memorabilia.

ClocksGoingBackwards · 03/08/2022 09:42

Of course it’s tacky, but it’s also harmless fun for a special occasion.

ManateeFair · 03/08/2022 09:46

It’s not my thing, but she’s not harming anyone so it’s fine.

It’s just the equivalent of decorating the happy couple’s cat, sorry car, back in the old days when they would set off on honeymoon from the reception. Just Married on the rear window in shaving foam, tin cans etc attached to the rear bumper. Happy memories of being beeped and waved at as we drove to Heathrow. You never see this now, so nothing wrong with a bride hat etc imo.

My friend is on her honeymoon and ever single picture is them in matching Mr and Mrs xxx tops or her personalised jacket with her new name.. I wouldn't do it and do think its tacky but its harmless and they are happy
