Aka.....tramp week?
All your nice summer clothes are being washed and packed.
Am i going to be reduced to wearing winter clothes or looking like a total scruff all week?
What's your solution to the problem?

Some people are working right up until the day before or have other commitments so may do their holiday prep the closest weekend to their holiday.

Well I would be as well (working) I suppose the question in that case is how long does it take people to pack. Like I might be making sure things are washed and dried during the week before but wouldn’t put them in the case until the night before.

Gym kit - that’s definitely not coming on holiday with me!

I'll have no problem as it'll still be winter in Melbourne when I set off for the UK.

It's not the physical packing that takes time it's the having everything washed, dried, ironed (where needed ) that takes time.

I start about 5 days to a week before, but if we're going somewhere hot I have holiday clothes I never wear here that come out of storage, so it's more about not wearing the clothes we want to travel in and take with us to travel back.

I don't want to be all last minute with packing when I'm also trying to wind things down at work, organise pets etc.

I have a pair of cheap leggings and a couple of tops specifically for this purpose.
