Kids screaming outside in paddling pool before 7.30 am

My neighbours are all lovely. However one side has a one yr old screaming outside 6.50 am .Half an hour later the other side has a 3 yr old in an adult size paddling pool making loads of noise while parents talk loudly too.
I admit my dcs are grown up but we used to say be quiet and go out nearer 9 because of the neighbours.
I could understand if it were a heatwave. It is not.
Not a great start when I have a 12 hr day ahead.Rant over.

Well she was asleep
until she got woken by the noise
dear god I swear people get a kick out of being obtuse wankers

Incorrect. OP does not say she was woken up.

She says she was awake and drinking coffee, but she didn’t want her coffee drinking time to be disturbed 🤣

Isn't this what Cbeebies/weekend TV time is for? To bridge the gap between DC's actual waking times and what most people consider a civilised time to start stirring on the weekend.

Sellie555 · 30/07/2022 12:41

My new neighbours have a toddler but the toddler isn’t the issue,

the toddler is obviously up early each morning and then that means the mum and dad are outside at 6am having a fag and talking soooooooo loudly every morning in the garden! I can hear every word of what they say! And they are there chatting for ages super loudly. But I rarely hear a peep from the toddler lol

i now wear ear plugs

fUNNYfACE36 · 30/07/2022 17:12

From 7 onwards on a,weekday is fine.Maybe 8 on a weekend

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 30/07/2022 17:25

I tend to sleep with ear plugs in if it’s the summer and I want a lie in. Safer that way!

mackthepony · 30/07/2022 17:28

Unacceptable.

As parents of small children, you need to go to the park, walks etc if they wake early and won't sit still. Garden is not allowed before 9 on a Saturday, 10am on a Sunday

I agree @whatisforteamum , what happened to respect
I'd say something when I saw them next

Yes great idea and start world war three.
Fastest way to fall out with those you have to live around.
I'd such it up as it won't be forever and they are just enjoying themselves at the end of the day.
I personally like to hear kids playing in water.

Yanbu. I'm far from perfect but if my preschooler wants to go in the back garden before 9am (as he often does!) I tell him to creep like a mouse and not disturb the neighbours. He usually scuttles around quietly with a cheeky grin as I hang the washing then disappears back inside with me. Why he enjoys it so much I don't know!

whatisforteamum · 30/07/2022 22:49

Thanks for the replies.
I guess we all get lost in our own activities.
My dh used to leave for work before 5 am so he parked at the top of the road so as not to wake the neighbours.
I do wear earplugs but the baby then toddler were making a lot of noise.

As a one off I would just forget about it. If it's happening all the time that's different. I got woken up at 8 by my neighbours talking in their garden - I get one lie in a week and this cut it short - but there's nothing I can do about it.

girlmom21 · 31/07/2022 07:46

My 3 year old asked me if she could play in the garden at 7am and I remembered this thread so said no - but I felt shitty refusing her outdoor play and fresh air!

Lorrymum · 31/07/2022 10:11

My neighbour watered his garden at 5.45am yesterday morning. His back door is close to our bedroom window and we could hear the whole performance. Selfish idiot!

This is gorgeous!

I was also woken by 2 screaming kids this morning at 6.25am

Back doors wide open, banging some sort of a drum and shrieking.. parents talking loudly over the din.

I think I'll have a party soon

balalake · 31/07/2022 11:27

Speak to them, frame it as the only thing they are not lovely about, tell them what you insisted on when your DC were growing up.

LetsPlayShadowlands · 31/07/2022 18:53

I get woken up by seagulls at 5am. I wear ear plugs to stop this.

PollyEsther · 31/07/2022 19:01

Are you me, OP? I've had to put up with two screaming children in the garden nearly every morning this week. They're out there from 6.30-8.30 ish and then we don't hear them all day. Why?!! They've woken me several times. I've never let mine out to make noise before 9, preferably 10. Because I'm not a massively selfish dick.

whatisforteamum · 31/07/2022 23:06

I wonder why they don't consider other people.
One older man is recently bereaved on the other side.
People are so self absorbed and selfish.
