AIBU not wanting to wait about

If I’m out for a walk with a friend or family member and I bump into someone I know I will keep the conversation short to not leave the person I’m walking with standing waiting for me to finish. However when it’s a case of the person I’m with bumping into someone that they know they will leave me standing there for half an hour to an hour whilst they catch up with one another.

Standing has always given me really bad backache whilst walking helps it so that contributes to the feeling of annoyance because I feel rude walking off when it starts hurting too much.

Is anyone else like this and finds it rude to have to wait so long or AIBU and need to be patient about it.

Half an hour to a whole hour?

Sorry but that's batshit that you'd wait that long for them.

Just tell them you're going to walk on and leave them to it.

It's infuriating.

I just say "catch me up, Sandra. I'll carry on walking".

@TeapotTitties today’s was closer to an hour oh what fun. I did walk on in search of a seat but wondered if it came across as rudely encouraging them to wrap it up.

@ChagSameachDoreen LOL I’ll try that next time. Then again maybe I’d be better off sticking to solo walks.

Just stop being a mug.

Give them 10 minutes and tell them you're walking on. They can either follow or carry on chatting.

That would drive me mad too - can’t understand how anyone could be so rude.

Im exactly the same with my back too - walking helps but standing on the spot is very painful.

I agree with those who say “catch me up, Sandra” is the best thing to say. Maybe they’ll realise then!
