Husband just reflected sunlight in my eyes

For a joke, husband just reflected sunlight into my eyes from his watch. I asked him to stop singing a very repetitive and annoying song (repested with whistling, humming and singing for the last 10 minutes). His response was to shine the light from a perfect sun - no clouds, fully round, very bright sun - into my face.

Well, i lost it. I had to explain why it was dangerous. He replied that people had been doing it for 1000s of years. I just had no sense of humour.

So depressed that I am married to such a stupid arse.

Actually reflected UV light like this is more damaging to your eyes than direct sunlight due to the angle that it hits your eyes. Is your husband a teenager?

What a the risk for about 10 seconds?

YABU

It sounds like you enjoy creating a drama and having something to be annoyed with each other about.

If he’s such a stupid arse why are you still married to him?
Genuine question.

Enko · 27/07/2022 21:19

Irritating? Yes.
To this level of drama? No.

This 100% He is annoying for sure but we all are at time. Nothing you said here shows any reason to " loose it"

Ugh men can be so childish at times....

My OH likes to sing to every single song that comes on, even if he doesn't know the song! drives me insane.

Same-i asked him why he said so he can learn the song

ProfessorFusspot · 27/07/2022 21:21

He is being unreasonable. Watches have only existed for a little over 500 years.

“Fully round” Yep, wouldn’t have been as bad if it was a waning sun.

This absolutely had me howling 😂 my DH just had to ask what I was reading.

I’ve only just got this 😂 time for bed I think!

longtompot · 27/07/2022 21:40

Seeing as my dh knows the suns reflection on a window from the houses opposite can cause me to get a migraine, if he did this I would go crazy at him. But he knows this and doesn't do childish things like this

Summerfun54321 · 27/07/2022 21:54

Dangerous reflected sunlight?! Don’t book a beach holiday OP, there’s loads of it coming off the water there.

ilovemyboys3 · 28/07/2022 09:05

Complete overreaction in my opinion.
