My son is going to LCCM in September and we currently looking for accomodation.

Which areas would you think are reasonable for my son to travel from? (Accommodation very close to LCCM is very expensive). He also has some difficulties related to his ASD in terms of organisation so ideally he would want to be as close as possible.
Which areas would anyone who is familiar with the area, advise to look at regarding accommodation?

Thank you very much!

Anywhere with a line into London Bridge - places like New Cross are super close.

This is really convenient for London Bridge station.

If it was me, I'd look at the train lines going into there. Peckham for example had lots going on locally, up and coming and is 10 mins into London Bridge.

There are loads of options.

Or Borough station is on the Northern line. Both are so close.

If you mean London College of Communication at the Elephant and Castle, there are excellent transport links from a wide area. Numerous buses, two lines of the tube and railway. Consider a journey with on change (eg between buses or tube to bus) and there are a lot of areas that he could get to quickly and easily. To cut things down a bit and depending on budget and preference, what about Peckham? Stockwell? Camberwell? All of these would be straight through on one bus or tube.

LCCM has an Accommodation Facebook group which they signpost to from their website: www.facebook.com/groups/474728132553721
Most of the areas recommended there will be convenient for travelling in.

If he isn’t intending / able to get a space in halls of residence then as a fresher it’s still likely he’ll have a much better experience if he tries to live with other students, particularly other students at his college, rather than a room in a houseshare with others or a studio flat on his own.

There are also private multi-university residences such as Manna Ash House in Borough and Porchester House in E&C which are more affordable than the big name residences like Unite and IQ.
