To consider this a fault with the item?

Could this be considered a fault with these shoes? Got for my birthday 5 weeks ago and have only worn them maybe 5 times but due to the suede stretching at the front they look bumpy/untidy and much older already. My last pair of trainers lasted me 2 years with lots of wear. I'm so disappointed.

I'd like to add: I buy suede boots most winters and they never go like this.

They look fine. You are also being unreasonable for putting your shoes on the kitchen worktop too! 🤣

StrangeCondition · 27/07/2022 14:02

What do they look like with your feet in them?

NightCrow · 27/07/2022 14:12

It looks like normal wear. If you want to stop creases/lumps then you need to use crease protectors and when you're not wearing them stuff the toes with rolled up socks/ newspapers.....it keeps them looking like new for longer (if that's you're thing!). I like my trainers to not look brand new, honestly yours look fine

It does look like your toes have stretched them.

bubblescoop · 27/07/2022 16:14

Of course it’s not a fault. You’re probably not wearing the correct size.

SeasonalNamechange · 27/07/2022 16:16

How do they fare in reviews?

Have other people mentioned it?

10HailMarys · 27/07/2022 16:20

That looks like normal wear to me. It's possible you need a bigger size, as it just looks like they've moulded to your toes.

Blizzardbeach · 27/07/2022 16:55

It doesn't look like the material is faring well!
Not sure about this particular brand, but nike have a 1/2 year guarantee from purchase/manufacture date.

I'd personally be unhappy and I would contact the supplier to enquire about a return.
All you'll get is "sorry you're disappointed, we agree, you can have a refund/ exchange or No, we disagree, thus is normal wear and tear and you know to avoid in future.

TBH I contacted Nike last week with a fault on some shoes, couldn't have been more helpful.

Xiaoxiong · 27/07/2022 17:39

They just look more unstructured so your toes have stretched them in front (is it possible they're too small?). Boots will have thicker and more structured toe box so the fact that boots don't do this is not necessarily down to the material. You could try your luck I suppose.

There aren't actually any reviews on the website.

They actually fit really well. As it happens I had a fabric pair of fred perry trainers a few years ago in a smaller size but I bought these a size up as my feet have gotten bigger since having DC1.

sidheandlight · 28/07/2022 00:46

depends, how much did they cost? I am not familiar with the brand, but assuming Fred Perry as you mentioned them, 90? I have purchased cheap as chips trainers before from shoe zone and this crap happens all the time (even if not suede) but on more expensive brands it doesn't. I would not be happy - they do look like suede trainers that have been soaked? Have you washed them? Have you been in a very wet environment with them? Are there similar reviews to your complaint online? I wouldn't be happy if none of the above applied at that price but it does look like wet damage.

Ladylout · 28/07/2022 01:01

@sidheandlight They were £75, my birthday present from my husband.

No water near them! He bought them last month and I was only wearing them when I was going into town (tidied up) and was trying to avoid wearing them much to keep them good.

There has been a drought in Sussex where I have been wearing them so it's not as though they've been in the rain or wet grass!

phishy · 28/07/2022 03:13

They look very different to how they look on the website. Do they look the same when you’re wearing them, or do they mould to your foot?

Sorry to say, they are now half price at £37.50.

GoodThinkingMax · 28/07/2022 04:04

Perfectly normal - suede stretches. I imagine your boots have a stiff lining to the toe caps to keep them smooth, but that wouldn't work with a trainer/athleisure sort of shoe.

Popvan · 28/07/2022 04:18

The toe is just part of the tongue and not re-enforced (example look at suede A did as) so it will stretch and bag, the colour also makes it noticeable but only if you're looking for it.
