How to sell baby stuff

Not sure what to do with the amount of baby stuff around the house: Moses basket, car seat, pram etc. how would you sell it? Anything I need to be aware of? I don’t want to get scammed as I’ve never done this before. Sites like eBay would they collect and pay or transfer money first? There’s also next door neighbour app. I don’t use Facebook.

Personally I’ve found marketplace (on Facebook) to be the best way to sell baby items. Albeit this was quite a few years ago. I would ask for cash on collection, no PayPal as has potential to be scammed.

I've used gumtree to both buy and sell baby stuff.
Or freecycle for anything you want to give away for free.

Gumtree or Facebook marketplace are the easiest for bigger items, I'd make a Facebook purely to use marketplace then delete it once your done.
For smaller items, clothes etc I use Vinted.

Or find a local baby stuff market near you - there's a company called Mum2Mum where you pay £15 for a table then keep the cash from everything you sell.

I've been slowly selling baby things my 7 month old is growing out of via Facebook marketplace and on vinted. I sold my double pushchair on Facebook and only do cash on collection. The Moses basket o also sold on Facebook. For smaller items (clothes, sleeping bags, pushchair accessories l) I've been selling on vinted. Via vinted the money is transferred into your vinted account once the item is delivered to the buyer. The buyer pays for postage and vinted send a prepaid shipping label so all you need to do is drop it off to the local courier shop

My village also has a parents WhatsApp selling group, so could be something like that in your area

Thank you all. It’s so sad getting rid of all his old stuff but there’s no room in the house. Definitely not having any more babies so need to get rid of 😔

I've used Gumtree to buy baby stuff. Or ebay if you want more of a profit but then you have to ship it.

I rather people pick it up. The pushchair is very expensive so not sure how it will work. I’ve checked other prices and it’s on for second hand £400+. I’m planning on selling for less so £300. Will it be okay having this much in cash? I’d feel more comfortable having a bank transfer but also that’s a risk due to scams etc. how would you do this?

Honestly, just ask for cash. I find it’s the easiest way to avoid being scammed. Everyone I’ve sold to is fine about paying in cash too.
