To hate having people to stay

Parents are staying with us for a couple of weeks, love them and spending time with them, but hate having people stay this long.
Just really want to sprawl out and relax in the heat, but feel like I have to be doing things. Also have a crazy 3 year old and managing behaviour and tantrums with them sat watching is pretty awkward
Anyone else feel like this?

Not unreasonable at all, I have noticed in here that everyone has people to stay or stays with other people. I never do either, if my parents visit they prefer to stay in a local hotel and staying at people's houses isn't a thing among my more far flung friends. I don't want to feel uncomfortable in my own home

I feel the same about house guests in general but love having my own DP stay, they are a really help and spoil us all rotten.

I can manage 2 nights having people staying or staying, usually my mum. I’m way too intolerant for more. People staying for weeks would have me starting a new patio.

My MIL lives abroad and normally stays with us for 6 weeks every summer. I am an introvert and like my own space so I find it really hard.

I think you need to be clear in future on the length of the stay otherwise this could really damage your relationship with your parents. Invite them to stay from X date to x date, then you are in control of how long.
