New manager

I have a new manager who I am not sure if I AIBU or over sensitive to. He started a couple of months ago and unfortunate timing my DC and myself were ill in his first couple of weeks. So I had to take sick days. He made comments to me then about why could I not work in the evenings when the kids had gone to bed. He obviously didn't believe I was also ill.
Compared to my old manager who I worked excellently with for the last 3 years. He doesn't like her previous way of working and wants to dramatically change a lot of our systems. Which is fine I get everyone works differently. However I am beginning to feel all these changes involve him doing a lot less and me a lot more.

Anyway I feel the above is relevant to put my AIBU into context. Basically he has decided to do a big project during August when I have two weeks booked off for the school holidays. Yesterday he asked me what my plans where for them two weeks. I explained it's family time/childcare. He then said well I'm not going to ask you to cancel as I understand it's for childcare but you need to work how to best use your time to the other two weeks to make a significant contribution. AIBU to feel like he was almost acting like he was doing me a favour? And to feel concerned for my future with this company?

I do feel upset as I have worked here for over 5 years and never had any issues. They have a big work life balance policy and I have never had issues with getting annual leave for childcare before or had any comments made about it.
