To think routine and healthy eating doesn't matter in the heat

I've been giving by DC loads of ice lollies in the past few days and when my nana came to visit yesterday she kept remarking how DC was going to 'be a nightmare' later on in the week but honestly as bad as it sounds that's for future me to deal with.

Of course she's been eating frozen fruit as well and we've been having salad for tea 3 days in a row so it's not like she's been just having sugar but ice lollies are easy for her to eat and they keep her cool. Of course it'll be a nightmare later on probably but that's parenting having her cool right now is the top priority imo

Same with bedtime, yes usually she goes to bed early but she just gets hot and bothered i'd rather her be in the living room with the massive fan than upstairs in that hot room.

I don't think i'm being unreasonable but of course that's why this forum exists

If we lived by this logic in Australia, our kids would be overtired, overstimulated little ferals! Just keep to your normal routine with icy cold drinks or a couple of healthy snacks for example frozen fruit popsicles.

Eating cold food, fine. Eating multiple lollies? Maybe not. I mean for two days, who cares? But heat events are likely to get more frequent so we have to live with them. Cool, not cold, drinks, not using the oven. Teaching children how to manage heat. All good.

Sleeping in the coolest room in the house was a part of my very hot childhood though, that's normal. In the med it's the basement. On a tile floor when it's really hot.
