Another ninja dual /airfryer thread

Just bought the ninja dual max after seeing loads of recommendations, thinking I'd be using endlessly as my own oven is absolute shite_cooked chicken nuggets, hash browns and chicken chargrills so far!Chargrills absolutely burned to a crisp.
Can anyone recommend any online recipe suggestions or books, all the ones I've seen are very Americanised and the books have bad reviews.Plus the recipes don't tell you whether to put on roast, airfry, crisp etc.
I feel like I've totally wasted my money ,I'm not the most adventurous or good cook, for instance I can make a mess of cooking a steak. So I was really looking forward to getting this and trying new things but it just seems like hassle.Tia.

If you use Facebook there is a group specific to the dual air fryer. As a general rule of thumb I think it’s recommended to lower temp by 20% and cooking time by 10% (compared to normal oven). That’s what I do but check probably halfway through.
I made 2 loaves of bread in mine yesterday.

If you're on Instagram then 'boredoflunch' is fantastic for ideas.

a chicken breast literally only needs about 10 mins on 180 degrees in ours, and thats for a quite thick one.

The Ninjas are great, you do need to keep an eye on them as they cook a lot faster and much hotter. We tend to follow these rules:

10 degrees less cooking temp than the item recommended (ie chips at 200 not 210)

Only cook for 2/3rds of the time then check to see if done. (Temp probe is great for this). If it is nearly done make sure you check it very frequently as it will go from done to nuked in the blink of an eye.

We found pigs in blankets were perfect for testing this as you can easily see when they are done. Note, steak airfried does not look cooked properly but usually is, medium rare comes out with a very odd colour externally (temp probe is essential).

as other people have said play around with temps and timings i have found perfect for chips is coat the potatoes in oil before cooking and i do them for 15 minutes at 160 degrees shake them and then 6 minutes at 160 degrees produces perfect chips the recipes in the book are awful no where near what they should be

Thanks for the replies. Can anyone recommend a temperature probe please ,again mixed reviews so not sure which one to get, preferably digital. Also has anyone tried the silicon basket liners available on Amazon, they only seem to sell them on there and no reviews as yet.
I'm assuming you need something like this if doing salmon ,or roasted veg etc so they don't stick to the griddle tray?

You do have to keep checking as things cook. I have had the silicone liners for a week and they are really useful. i keep them in for any cooking. Much less hassle to clean as the lift handle tends to trap food. Never run my oven now but we are only two.

Don’t forget to open it up and give whatever you’re cooking a shake or turn it over with tongs halfway through cooking. You can also cover things with foil if necessary.

I use www.amazon.co.uk/Thermometer-DOQAUS-Instant-Backlight-Foldable/dp/B07WKKS4HB/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=C2XA5ASGT79L&keywords=probe+thermometer&qid=1658342092&sprefix=Probe+%2Caps%2C100&sr=8-3 and it's brilliant.

Also just got an air fryer, really tempted to make wedges in it now!
