Chest pain due to heat?

escapeplanstruggles · 17/07/2022 22:35

My chest has been hurting all day and it's not even the hottest day yet, I've had white spots in my vision and dizziness I've been drinking as much as I can but still feel awful. I work in a fairly active job (on my feet constantly, carrying fairly heavy items) and I really struggled. I really don't know how to cope tomorrow my chest hurts everytime I breath in like a squeezing pain - I've had chest pain quite frequently I'm not worried so much as just being in pain and feeling quite sick which isn't ideal obviously.

I know I need to get a grip and it's only a few days of heat - but I'm in pain. I can't change that. I've taken pain killers and it's not shifting it. What can I do to try and get through the next two days which are going to be even hotter! Work doesn't have air con (or fans), we can't open the windows because they don't open. I work near a kitchen (though thankfully I'm not actually in there all day like the chefs, genuinley don't know how they are coping!) and although I'm trying to drink more fluids I'm bloated and and it's not helping.

Hang on that sounds like heart issues. I don't think you should be working tomorrow. Do you have an aspirin or 2 you can take now. Get yourself cooled and comfortable. Call in sick tomorrow. You come first

chest pains and white spots - I think you should get to a and e to be on the safe side x

PurpleDaisies · 17/07/2022 22:41

If you’re having chest pain, you need to seek urgent medical advice in real life.

catfunk · 17/07/2022 22:42

You need to call 111/ get to a&e, it could be a heart attack. Heat doesn't generally cause chest pain .

Penguintears · 17/07/2022 22:43

Definitely A and E with chest pain. It sounds like a heart issue and nothing to do with the heat.

BoJoGoGoGo · 17/07/2022 22:44

You need to be checked out with those symptoms please call 111 for advice

PurpleDaisies · 17/07/2022 22:45

Seriously op, you have other red flags. Feeling sick. Feeling dizzy. White spots in your vision
This is not something to ignore. You need medical attention. Urgently.

I agree: seek medical attention asap. You need to be assessed for heart problems.

FannyFifer · 17/07/2022 22:45

I think this is most definitely something that you need to get urgent medical advice about.

BlanketsBanned · 17/07/2022 22:49

The best thing would be to seek medical hrlp tonight. You have chest pain and sickness and feel dizzy. You really should not br worrying about work.

ThreeLittleDots · 17/07/2022 23:10

Do an online triage first OP, if you're worried about calling 111:-

Fluid retention can be a side effect of your heart struggling. Please get to A&E right now and explain all of your symptoms.

BirdWatch · 18/07/2022 04:05

It sounds heart related. If you can seek some medical care right away, I think you should. Can you get a cooling cloth or ice
until you are seen, overheating probably is sickening you. Let us know how you get on.

Wear a wet or damp t shirt
take big breaths for a count of four, hood for a count of four then breathe out slowly. It will calm the panic attack

Crocsandshocks · 18/07/2022 09:33

Hi OP. How are you this morning? Can you get your feet in a cool bucket of water to cool your core temp
