I don't think I've seen a test where the T is darker than the control?

This is my first time with covid and I'm an anxious AF. Symptoms aren't too bad but this little guy has freaked me out a bit 😳
It's day 4 since I tested positive and its getting darker each day.

Yanbu - nope, not seen that before
Yabu - yep, seen it all before

I have covid too OP for the first time. Had it for a week and it's still going strong. Had to cancel my holiday too. Really weird not being able to taste or smell. Bored shitless. Try not to worry and just go with the flow. Take care

Totally normal!

TokyoTen · 17/07/2022 10:29

As PP have said, its positive but the lines are normal colour.

CallOnMe · 17/07/2022 11:10

Just stop testing - there is no need for it.

Lol just because you can’t cope with facing reality doesn’t mean the rest of us can’t.

Just out of interest - were you also someone telling people not to wear their mask or to ‘get back to normal’.

Burying your head in the sand or pretending something doesn’t exist isn’t going to make it go away unfortunately.

But you can help not spread it so we can continue getting back to normal and the easiest way to do that is to do an LFT and isolate as best as you can - which hopefully you do for any contagious illness anyway.

Yup. This.

It just means you have covid. No deeper meaning.

That sounds snippier written down than I mean it to. Will a smiley face help? Smile

🥰

Getting colds makes us stronger.

Destroying the economy makes us poorer.

Being poorer makes us less healthy. Best correlation with the health of a nation is the wealth of that nation.

Destroying small business specifically, but saving big business, is fascist.

caringcarer · 05/08/2023 22:29

Me, DH, DS and DFS all had this and DH took 15 days to not be positive.

Start your own thread rather than bumping one from a year ago!

Nikirosiee · 05/08/2023 22:35

Jheez people don’t have to be this harsh I never got it before and was clueless

Fizzology · 05/08/2023 22:38

Are you testing daily after a positive? Stop that - it will just make you more anxious. Wait 5 days at least after your initial positive to retest. Maybe wait another 48 hours now before you retest.

I hope you're feeling okay.

Treesandrivers · 05/08/2023 20:49

Yup. This.

I think the original comment was in response to the op testing everyday for 4 days! Not the fact that she’s tested in the first place.
Personally I wouldn’t be testing at all. I don’t test myself for any other kinds of infectious disease.
I stay home if I’m ill and avoid spreading my germs as much as is sensible but I won’t be testing unless I’m made to.

EmilyBrontesGhost · 05/08/2023 22:51

I've never had a covid test.

I simply don't understand why anyone would.

@Fizzology

Considering this was posted in 2022 I'd hope so!!!

I've never had a covid test.

I've a family member received chemo whose immune system is compromised - Covid could kill them.

Friend has respiratory problems and would be extremely ill if they caught Covid.

Another friend has heart problems, ditto.

Its not just about me having Covid, it's about the impact on others.

So what did you do before covid, when you had a cold?

EmilyBrontesGhost · 07/08/2023 10:16

So what did you do before covid, when you had a cold?

Well given that the two things are completely different....
If I felt well enough and they did too, with a cold I'd meet them outdoors. Othe I'd stay away until I was cold-free.

When Covid was rife in our area, tested every 2-3 days, wore masks I'd I had to visit, and so did they, or, met outdoors.

BashfulClam · 07/08/2023 13:42

That was what mine looked like and at day 16 I was still testing positive…I stopped testing then!

ZarquonsSandals · 07/08/2023 13:42

^I'd stay away if I knew I was infectious with anything.
During covid, family member was unwell so we had to arrange doorstep delivert of shopping foe them.
Just avoided unnecessary contact with people with health conditions, in all scenarios.
