Thursday my friend rang me and asked me if I was free Saturday.
To go out for lunch /cocktails and the beach ..I said yes.
Treated myself to a new dress.
Last night my friend messaged saying she was in the garden.
Then she messages saying she changed her mind and was going to the pub -I know when she goes out she gets ridiculously drunk so I was worried she would cancel.
This morning I get up and get dressed.
Text her ...and no reply
5 minutes ago -sorry I'm not going out today too hungover.
Aibu to be annoyed?

Yes, that's rude. It sounds like she's not bothered either.

I remember a friend once turning up to, what should have been, a boozy lunch (many moons a go!) and was so hungover, she was nearly sick and had to leave after 20 minutes. I remember being quite pissed off that we had this pencilled in for weeks and it was effectively ruined because she'd over done it the night before. She was really sorry though. If she'd have just sent me a matter of fact, 'I'm too hungover to meet, soz' message, I'd have been really cross!

And I've just seen this was an old thread 🙄

As you were.

LookItsMeAgain · 16/11/2022 10:43

@Curryinnohurry - I'm just wondering, did you happen to click into the thread because you saw it on the "You might also be interested in" section?

Curryinnohurry · 16/11/2022 10:44

Possibly. This seems to be a new MN feature. Quite annoying.

Why did you reanimate a zombie thread?

Why did you reanimate a zombie thread?

Read the post just after the one you’ve quoted. I think it was unintentional.

LookItsMeAgain · 16/11/2022 10:55

@SleeplessInEngland - there is a new "feature" on areas on the board called "You might be interested in" or something like that. I think that @Curryinnohurry clicked on a thread that was highlighted there, didn't spot the dates on the original messages and just replied.

This is what is going to keep happening on MN if they don't take the new 'feature' down.

watcherintherye · 16/11/2022 11:05

So, MN is actively reanimating zombie threads with this new feature? That’s mad. I thought MN was being trolled by posters doing exactly that, and were trying to put a stop to it? If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em, I suppose! Confused

Curryinnohurry · 16/11/2022 11:13

It would be a good feature if they were active threads, but it's annoying when you've spent time posting on a thread that is inactive.

Venetiaparties · 16/11/2022 11:21

I was enjoying reading about sunbathing and 21c, feels so long ago since we were sitting in the garden with a book and a twister (sigh)

Mariposista · 16/11/2022 11:35

I'd be furious. Selfish little shit.

MavisChunch29 · 16/11/2022 11:46

Ok as a one off, but not as a regular occurrence.

LadyMarmaladeAtkins · 16/11/2022 12:52

Under the age of 22 - YANBU but this is fairly common and a bit excusable especially if it was someone's birthday or something.

Over the age of 22 - YADNBU, how pathetic.

It was their 22nd birthday - YABU, unless it was something that required tickets or a lot of faff to organise in which case they should plan better.

LadyMarmaladeAtkins · 16/11/2022 12:53

Oh another zombie thread, eh? If the original hungover friend is also a zombie, IHNIIYABU.

Please don't resurrect zombie threads.

Curryinnohurry · 16/11/2022 14:11

@Ocampa , clearly not intentional. Haven't you heard about this new feature?
