Packing for a holiday

Hi all

Advice needed please! 2 adults and 4 children. Going to Spain for 2 weeks. I'm thinking we need only 4 maybe 5 outfits each. And extra pants for the younger ones in case of accidents. Dh reckons 7. But it just seems too much for the suitcase. One swim suit each too. We have a washing machine where we are staying and I'm happy to wash clothes.

Is there anything we should pack that we might not necessarily remember?

I'm packing a spare outfit in everyone's hand luggage too as I have heard bad things of suitcases going missing with the airline we are using so we at least have a change of clothes.

@Anonymous48 I'm guessing your hygiene is pretty poor and you suffer from quite bad body odour if you aren't able to wear a dress for a few hours and then rewear it a few days later. I'd see a doctor about that if I were you.

Well if all you do on holiday in a warm place is sit in an air conditioned bar, then I guess you can get away with wearing the same outfit 3 or 4 times, although I certainly wouldn't want to be sitting next to you at the bar when you're on wear number 4. Talk about poor hygiene!

Personally, I like to walk around and explore when I'm on holiday, and guess what? I sweat when doing that, like a normal person. Then because I have good hygiene, I wash those clothes before wearing them again.

We as a family of 4 tend to have around 40kg for 7-10day hol

2-3 swim sets as change them at lunch time - they wear board shorts with a tee for bfast n lunch

4 tshirts as can be worn more than once and easily rinsed out and dried
4 eve shirts/polo tops as above
3 pairs smarter shorts for eve as above
Underwear they wear in the eve then to bed so 7 pairs dont bother with pjs

For me I take 2-3 swimwear, beach dresses/cover up x3-4
4 eve dresses
Underwear
Running gear (but travel in my running shoes)

Husband takes 3 swim shorts
7 shirts he wears of an eve then the same one with beach shirts to pool next day
3 pairs smarter shorts
Underwear
Long linen trousers if needed

We then pack sliders, sandals, beach/water shoes for all
Inflatables/pool toys
Books/quiz activity books for poolside chilling
Suncream, toiletries etc
90 million snacks even if all inc

Seriously I used to pack enough day n eve outfits for every day they dont get worn the board shorts, rash vests and tshirts get the most wear (other than underwear obv)

If needed we could pack into one case and be under 20kg but we dont pay much attention as we have the allowance.

I've just packed - total weight of 3 cases for 3 of us for 3 weeks is 38kg

My pal takes 90kg for 3 of them for 2 weeks - full Jet2 allowance I think 🤣

We made it. Everything went smoothly. And we have had our first day. The clothes are more than enough! I unpacked ans doing a wash tomorrow morning to hand out to dry. Kids where in the pool a lot today. Dried within minutes of getting out.

Dd aged 3 has woken since 3 am with a terrible tummy ache though. She's just fallen asleep now. I gave her calpol and water 1/4 of a banana because I thought she might be hungry and is also a fussy eater. Didn't help. She just fell asleep now.

I'm wandering what it might be. No tap water drank. Only bottled. She didn't eat anything washed under the tap. She's been kept hydrated.

Can the sun cause tummy aches in smaller kids. I read about heat cramps. It's the middle of her belly
