AIBU to ask how much is fuel costing you per week? Was just thinking about how expensive fuel is now and how it's only going to work.

So how much is it costing everyone per week?

It costs me £60 to fill my car at the moment and that would normally last me about 6 weeks.

(I am very grateful that I no longer have a long commute to work or that would be £120 a week)

I use the pay-at-pump at my local ASDA, so can only authorise £99, that gets me 2 bars from the top. I do this once a week and with my commute (18 miles each way on a 50mph road) and taking DS to and from school and a supermarket run a week it just about lasts.

Because it’s likely to relate to engine size and fuel guzzling propensity.

I am stupid enough to drive a car with a 5.0 litre supercharged engine. So it has a 104.5 litre tank.

if I drove my neighbour’s awesome Mazda 2, I’m going to guess it has a tank size that’s a third of mine, and twice (at least) as good fuel consumption

so presuming we travel similar distances and similar usages (urban or motorway) then I’m guaranteed to spend more per week as I’m filling a larger tank

But that’s fuel economy, not petrol tank size. We’ve got two 650bhp+ cars, each with similar fuel economy, but one with a 50 litre tank and one with a 90 litre one. The tank size makes no difference.
