What the hell is going on with my boiler! Help!

Sorry I know this isn't an AIBU but I'm home alone with the kids and no idea what's going on. My daughter was in the shower and then all of a sudden heard the loudest shaking sound? (Can't really describe it) Anyway go upstairs and it's my boiler! The pressure gage is going insane spinning around which is making the noise I think. there's water spilling from a pipe like a fast drip under the boiler and spraying outside through what I assume is a connected pipe. Leaking through the ceiling. I've turned the boiler off and it's still doing it. It's so loud! I have no idea what to do. The pressure is so strong the floor is vibrating. I have no clue what to do. I have £21.74 in my account so no way I can call an emergency plumber. Does anyone know what's happening? And how I can get it to stop? Thanks

Just to add I know I won't be able to fix it myself but just want to get this insanely loud noise to stop and water from leaking even if it's turning the whole thing off from somewhere but I can't see where from as the boiler and a switch that was in there are both off

Can you turn the water off in your home? There will be a tap somewhere...try under the sink or in the cupboard with the gas/electric meter.
If you can stop water running through the boiler it might help.

You could call an emergency plumber, explain the issue & that you can't afford to pay...they might give you some free advice.

Sounds scary ! Can you turn the water supply off to the boiler ? ( not sure if that's even a thing.) . Weird how it's still making the noise when it's turned off !

On one of the pipes going in, you’ll have a valve/tap. Turn it so that the tap is at a right angle to the pipe; so it’s across the pipe. This will turn the water off.

Thank you!! I didn't even know there were valves there. I started twisting and it thankfully all went silent and the water stopped spurting out. I'm going to leave it alone until my dad can come round and have a look in the morning. Thanks again i really appreciate it Smile

It's the power supply to the boiler you need off, not just the water.

It sounds like it's low on pressure and is boiling the water away inside it.

Is it a combi?
