Not sure AIBU - can anyone shed any light on them please?
Who organises?
How do they know the gender?
Why/how don’t they parents know the gender?

Hi - I’m honestly not, I’m just confused as to the ones I’ve seen where the parents don’t seem to know & I haven’t been able to work out how.
And I thought they were called Gender reveal?

Yeah they are. Some people don't belive in gender though.

I don't get it at all but then again I'm quite an advocate for not finding out gender.
I am glad I didn't find out as it was the best surprise in the world.
I do think gender reveal parties are just an excuse to post a video on social media.
In terms of the parents not knowing, I'm not sure how that works. Unless someone else came to the scan.

I didn't do a gender reveal but in terms of it being the best surprise in the world my first question after both births was "is she ok? Why's she quiet?"
I dont think I could have cared less if they'd said either was a boy.

Why do so many people post easily googlable things on here? I googled "How do gender reveals work UK" and found the answer in 1 second.

I don't know, I have never been to one and certainly couldn't be arsed to organise one but if it makes people happy then why not?

girlfriend44 · 14/07/2022 10:29

I think i would prefer to wait until the baby is here to celebrate.
