My ear 👂 something in it has just shifted immediately making me feel slightly unbalanced etc.
I am also concerned it could be an infection.

I've had both before and I'm extremely worried about it and the coming heat.

Are there anything I can do before Sunday!!
Would someone micro it before me putting drops in?

Can it get damagesd if it's ear infections not Wax?

Proper sudafed from a chemist OTC.

Sinus irrigation.

Mrsjayy · 12/07/2022 13:39

You won't get micro suction before drops I think its 7 days , put some olive oil drops in see if it clears,if you think it's an infection or are in a lot of pain, phone your Gp surgery.

SidewaysOtter · 12/07/2022 13:43

I had this and it was horrible, everything felt distorted because my hearing was off. Drs looked at it and said the 'shifting' I'd felt was some ear wax blocking my ear almost completely and recommended sodium bicarbonate ear drops. Not only were they only a couple of quid but they sorted it all out quickly.

Suzi888 · 12/07/2022 13:45

Anti biotic ear drops if it’s an infection. I’d make a Gp appointment if it’s no better tomorrow.
In the meantime a little warm olive oil and gently massage the surrounding area - around the ear.

Be careful with ear drops, especially with an infection. See a pharmacist if you aren’t sure.

Will a gp see me to confirm do you think??

Google ear micro suction near you and book in urgently - you don’t need to use ear drops before the procedure. The practitioner will then advise if you need to see your GP. Many GP surgeries no longer offer ear wax removal as irrigation can damage the eardrum.

@MyfavouriteisA

Unfortunately the place's I have called are solid booked for 4 week's.

Doctor surgery is booked today all appt gone.
It feels more fluid to me than wax...

I have had micro suction a few times and they advise ear drops as did another place I contacted . I'm not sure where you use but maybe different places have different procedures.

Phone back tomorrow or can you go to a pharmacy and ask them for advise

If you have vertigo you could try the Epley manoeuvre. Loads of videos on YouTube. Hope you get some relief soon.

Advice* I hope you get some relief .

ThreeLittleDots · 12/07/2022 15:36

Ask to go on the cancellation lists of all the microsuction practitioners you've tried. I'm sure someone will squeeze you in soon. And do try that manoeuvre given above - it's something about the crystalline structures needing putting back into place. Sounds weird but legit.

RincewindsHat · 12/07/2022 15:42

Last time I had ear microsuction, I was advised not to use drops because it made the wax too soft and difficult to get out. Just Google ear microsuction and see if you can book yourself in somewhere asap. They'll be able to tell you if it looks like there's infection there and whether you should go to the doctor to see about it.

PaperTyger · 12/07/2022 16:07

Thanks you all.
Pharmacy said they can't look in the ear itself.

I just need a medic to glance in it!

I've called 111 and I'm hoping they can send me somewhere to get it seen

I'm concerned it's an infection brewing and doctors/ a and e will be even more crazy in the next few days and I won't get help.

Oh for the olden days when after the initial getting through to the doctor battle you could just be immediately booked in for an appointment! That day!

Now it's endless traige and explaining the same thing over and over. Talking to a receptionist barking at me ...is it hard wax we don't do wax and I'm pleading with her that it could be but I'm not convinced! It needs seeing!
