I have covid, I'm supposed to be in work wed-fri. My boss is terrified of covid. Technically I could in shut my door and work away but he tends not to let anyone in who has covid, fair enough it's his business. However, he also gets super frustrated if someone is off with it.

I think he'll be extra frustrated with me because I was on holiday last week so things will already be behind. I started with symptoms friday, guessed then I had it but no access to a test until Saturday which was a BFP.

Do you thinks theres any chance I'll test negative by Wednesday? Or should I ring him today and give advance notice?

I’d tell him now. And what a knob he is for getting frustrated with staff for taking leave of any sort. Time to find a new job?

Be honest, tell him now. U dunno why he is so nervous...he could have a serious health issue so don't even think of going into work while still positive and not telling him. It's his prblem if he gets frustrated, covid is a reality employers gotta deal with. Tell him asap and hope that u test negative asap.

Why would he be frustrated? You don’t know that, you’re guessing.

email him and tell him the timeline and your symptoms.

Are you Feeling ill?

Definitely let him know today. Say you'll take a test first thing Wednesday and what does he want you to do if it's positive.

Tell him ASAP.

Be honest and tell him what’s going on. Explain how you’ll manage your work and suggest a plan for catching up / anything you can handover to someone else.

You are not responsible for someone else’s health anxiety. You are entitled to be off sick for Covid. Take care of yourself and bugger what he thinks or feels! Sounds like you need a new job…

He can't have it both ways - be terrified of it but annoyed it someone gets it. In case he hadn't noticed, there's a lot of it about! I would tell him now. Try not to worry about his reaction, you really can't help being ill and are allowed time off if you are.

Just tell him the situation and ask what he wants you to do. He’s the boss. You can apologise that this has happened straight after your holiday but really you shouldn’t have to, this is just the times we’re living in.
