To cut my grass

We got back from holiday yesterday and the grass in the back garden is so overgrown as I didn't get to cut it for a couple of weeks due to DH having covid and really bad weather. It's a gorgeous day and I am itching to get it cut so the kids and I can get out into the garden today.

AIBU to cut it around 10am? Is that too early for a Sunday?

I usually go for 10.30am on Sundays. Like others I wouldn't be doing it in this heat though It can kill the grass or make it go into dormant state as itll get scorched. Just like you don't water plants in full sun in this heat either.

10am is fine. I’m a late sleeper and I’d have no problem with anyone cutting their grass at that time on a Sunday.

I’ve never found cutting my grass in hot weather to be a problem either. It’s grass. It’s about the hardiest plant there is. It recovers. If I waited for perfect conditions every time I cut my grass it would be waist-high by now. I’m sure if immaculate lawns that look like striped astroturf are your thing, that stuff is important but I don’t think the it matters for the average family whose lawn is a surface for football, barbecues, dogs, paddling pools and kids’ climbing frames. I look after my flower beds but I’m really not arsed about my lawn; I just want it to be functional really.
