Victoria Derbyshire should not co-present Newsnight

Just been announced she will co-present Newsnight and I am so disappointed.

Can't stand her presenting or interviewing style - she's completely ruined Ukrainecast.. All lightweight 'oh my god!' to everything, over-emoting, asking everyone how they feel about things rather than getting the facts, and trying to find some way to centre herself in the story.

She's entry level ITV daytime at best. What on earth were they thinking??

Just seen she's paid £244,999 (a 40% increase from last year).

Agree. She made it bearable to watch. I think she'll be good. So sorry Lewis Goodall is going. I like Mark Urban but you do always feel he he's just read his brief five minutes before he went live on air. Quite like the Christian (his name not his religion) bloke as well - hope he stays around. Newsnight really needs someone gutsy who is fully prepared and anticipating the bullshit answers.

I agree, she is lightweight. I cannot take her seriously. In fact she makes me cringe.

She's better than Kirsty Wark and she's also much better on QT than Fiona Bruce. I'd like to see her get that job.

Newsnight has gone down the pan since Emily and Lewis left.

I think she is developing into the role - so yes Newsnight isn’t what might be expected but maybe she wants more stretch and challenge and to develop into it; what’s wrong with that.
